Ok I have read about this issue time and time again and its about time to do something. As we all know from spam that we get from coworkers and various businesses the internet can spead anything faster than an STD in an orgy. I ask you all to look read and let me know if there is any other info in this PETITION that needs to be put in. Its about time WE put up and make DELL SPEAK UP! This is where we stand on the front line as MEN and shoot DELL right between the bottom line $$$. I enjoy my AXIM very much but I will no longer sit here and wait for someone in some other country to give me a scripted answer. Complaining amonst ourselves will NEVER get the problem solved and I am very sure DELL reps check this site and read our gripes. If you know of any and I mean ANY site that has something to do with POCKET PC's and even moreso DELL's I advise you to put this link in a message on a board and we will grow this campaign against big business to respond and react to customer issues. If the tech rep on the phone wont answer our issues, THEN we will make our issues known to the biggest group out there....THE INTERNET COMMUNITY! Let the VIRAL CAMPAIGN BEGIN see link!
Every now and then my Axim x50v gives me an error message when enabling the wireless device saying something along the lines of 'unrecognized wireless device'; usually a reset of the Axim clears it up. Next time it happens I'll get a screenshot of it and post it here.
I just had my first serious error today. My error stated that I can no longer use "Bluetooth" because the license is expired"! BTTRAYCE
So, I have no idea what to do about that! I own the Axim x50v
This thread seems to have stopped. Did someone solve the problem?

I'm still having the same BT/WiFi trouble as in my previous post. Only one works at a time. The wireless button only turns on WiFi. If I try to turn on BT after WiFi is on it says there is not enough free driver memory to enable BT, and that I must do a "nomral" reset to correct it. If I soft reset, it will let me turn on BT, but if I try to turn on WiFi I get the "unrecognized card" error. Tonight I'm going to try a hard reset and see if that fixes anything. I haven't contacted Dell support yet because I've found them to be essentially useless. If anyone gets a driver update or anything of that sort, please post the link here.
so, i'm having the same problem. no wifi and an error that says that the card in slot 2 needs a driver. i'm guessing that slot 2 is the compactflash card slot, so has anyone tried putting a card in that slot? does that change anything? i don't have any cf cards, so i can't try that. let me know. i'm out of warrenty & am thinking about just getting a wifi secure digital card to replace the broken internal wifi. also, does anyone know if the internal wifi can be replaced? i know people do RAM upgrades, so is that possible?

I am having exactly same problem! Have you found any solution?

I have had a number of problems with the same messages: ie "UNRECOGNIZED CARD" ETC. Talking to the DELL service people out of the country is a major pain in the rump and usually results in great delay as well as poor results. I love the capabilities of my Axim 50v but the hiccups in performance are unsettling. I also wondered about using a wifi card in the CF slot, since when I use my old axim x3 there is no problem connecting to our network at home. The newer AXIM, 50v, is the most difficult to connect to our network. WHY?
I am running A05 and have the same problem on occasion. A hard reset followed by a restore gets me back up and running again. It must be a software problem that still lingers on for some people. I find that the problem occurs when I go back and forth between two places with identical Linksys routers both with the default name linksys. Seem it gets confused and the driver dies?
I have tried every suggestion, soft reset, hard reset and I updated from A01 to A05 and still get the "Unrecognized Card in Socket 2" and my Wifi doesnt work and it cant see my CF storage card....It just happen what can I do is there something like i can download the driver..It says driver is unavailable.
Any help suggestions at this point will be greatly appreciated
If you have an Axim X50v and an error message "Unrecognized Card" is displayed asking for the name of the device driver for this card when you activate the wireless, several third party applications have been implicated. At least some users have discovered it is caused by a lack of main memory when wireless is started. This would suggest Today plug-ins in particular could cause the error, since many of them are loaded at startup. Try starting the wireless immediately after a soft reset, before loading other programs. Users have indicated they can then start the other programs as long as the wireless is started first. If this doesn't work, you may need to uninstall any Today plugins (Journal Bar, Pocket Plus, PocketBreeze, Battery Pack, etc.).
Did you restore from a backup or load other programs after the hard reset? If you tried wireless immediately after the hard reset (or the ROM upgrade) without installing more programs, it sounds like a hardware failure to me.
