I've never seen red showing. What are you doing when you see red?

You know, the power buttons has a light indicator, what does red light mean?
I am sure it aint the batteries, I tried a fresh set of batteries and it didnt work. Then I put the battery I had in it when it stopped working into the charger and within minutes the light turned green.
If you've tried a soft reset by pushing your stylus in the reset hole in the back and the light is still red... Try a hard reset by holding down the power button and pushing your stylus in the reset hole til you get a prompt on the screen. Use the button that lets you cancel then and see what color you get while charging then.

The display doesnt power on. Now, for some reason, when I have it in the cradle with fresh batteries the light shows green (for fully charged batteries), but doesnt turn on. When I lift it off, the light doesnt go on.
Yeah, one more thing. When I lift it off, there is no light right now so, only when I hard reset it I get to see a very dim red light without anything happening. :rolling:
As much as I'd like to get to the bottom of this I think you should call for a replacement.
How long were those batteries charged for though? Did you do the full 8 hours?
Everybody with an X50 is still under warranty so getting a replacement shouldn't be a problem.

So I decided to read through the manual once more, a bit more carefully, it says it should turn on when the cover is on. So, in my infinite wisdom I tried most of this stuff without the cover on. With it on it seems like it is back in business... Anyway, the internal batteries are empty :D And the back up file doesnt want to be restored to this "new" and "different" unit... screwy...
thanks all for your help, though i am not sure if it is working fully or temporarily or something...
I knew it was something like that! Like you I seldom RTFM. But on the plus side I now know how to "put on the red light". Thanks for sharing. :approve:
