Totally Frozen

I have noticed recently that programs have been functioning more slowly and haltingly. The other day it just froze. It would not shut off. I tried a soft reset - nothing. I tried a hard reset. Still nothing.

During the hard reset a message appeared: “To clear all data in the memory, press... To cancel this operation press....” I tried pressing the button but no response. It will not shut off unless - I had to take the battery out. I have tried repeating these steps but to no avail.

It may or may not be related, but last week the Windows Media Player would not play songs - it would just say that the file had been corrupted.

My Axim (x50 mid) is completely defunct at the moment. Has anyone else had this problem or any suggestions?

If you already tried a hard reset and it didn't work, try calling dell for a replacement.

When do perform a hard rest do you wait a minute for it to complete the process? The last time I did a hard reset of my X3i it took about 15 seconds from when I pressed the button to clear the memory, to when it started.

You could also leave the main battery out and leave the unit out of the charger for a while. That will drain down the backup battery and do a hard reset by default.

If the hard reset does not resolve the problem then you might want to call Dell for a replacement.

I don't know if you have already resolved your problem....but I had the same thing happen - and it turned out to be the Screen Protector!
It was too far into the side of the screen and it just froze everything! Scared me to death!

I took the screen protector off and everything worked fine.

Let us know what happened with yours.
