Question Turning off x50v properly.

I am having a problem with turning off my 50v, I was using the button at the top to turn off the unit but the green light next to the "Axim" was still flasing every 20 seconds or so. Later when I would go to power up the 50v, the battery would be dead.

I then installed the XP shutdown utility to confirm that I was shutting down the unit and not just the screen. I am still getting the same results. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong???

To turn off your power you should only have to quickly push the button at the top. Any chance you pushed the button on the left-side to enable the wireless? When you do this there is a green light that flashes in the upper right-hand corner. That can definately kill your battery after a short period of time.

The green light you refer to is the Wireless connection inidicator, but it should not kill a charged battery that quickly. Check your processor speed setting. Tap Start/Settings then tap the System tab, tap the Power icon, then finally the Processor tab, the default radio button is Auto. I find this setting is good for all around general usage/battery saving.

That appears to be it. Was I supposed to turn off the wireless connection before shutting down? If so I was not doing that. The green light now does not flash after I turn the unit off. Why in the world would the wireless connection stay on when the unit is turned off??? That makes no sense. Thanks for the tip. It is appreciated.

Just curious.....
how, exactly, do you know how long that quickly is,
as compared to KippJones' "Later when I would go to power up the 50v"?
