I can't transfer jpg images from pc to Axim??
Been doing this for months before!
I get a pop up box saying...

"Conversion failed. The specified module could
not be found."

Help??

Try just doing a copy or cut and paste using your PC's file explorer. This is the first time I've heard about this issue. Activesync shouldn't even be trying to convert .jpegs, WM2003 already supports that file format?

Try that:

Look in your ActiveSync program (on PC). Tools / Options / Rules, then click on the "Conversion Settings" box. Here, go to "Desktop to Device" and see if there's something in the list for JPG images.

If so, you can deactivate here, and it's probably a program you installed / unibnstalled badly that caused that (It tries to convert the JPG using a 3rd-party soft, but can't find it since it's uninstalled ).

If there's nothing, well... You can deactivate ALL conversions (by unchecking the check box in the General tab after you've clicked "Conversion Settings").

And if that still doesn't work, my best bet would be to reinstall ActiveSync (or don't use it for file transfers and use a card reader)

Hope this helps.

Was it just the .jpeg conversion setting that changed?

You're welcome :)

Some programs install their own conversion add-ons, so that they convert automatically all files you copy to their proprietary format. My guess is that you installed such a program (like a picture viewer or editor, I know one that does that by default: Spb Imageer), and then you restored your PPC from a previous backup, effectively uninstalling the program, but without removing the ActiveSync settings. Or something like that. Anyway, your uninstall was incomplete.

So ActiveSync was still trying to convert the picture using a filter that is not there anymore. You see the point.

Theo, you are right on. I did in fact install SPB Imageer and tried for weeks to use it but I could not ever view my photos, so I uninstalled it. I've since installed Resco Photo view so that may have changed some settings???

Don't Panic,
I went to the conversion settings, Desktop to PC and changed, I think (!!) .jpeg to .jpg

Thanks to BOTH of you!

John
