I have a axim x50 mid and the 5 little bars on the bottom corner of the screen are gone. I am hating dell more and more every day.....

Have you tried a soft re-set?

To get the wireless icon, makesure you have the file WirelessIcon.lnk in your \windows\Startup\ folder.

If not, it should be in your \windows\ folder. Just copy the file WirelessIcon.exe and then go to the startup folder and paste shortcut. Soft-reset and it should work

On my X30 I lose the Icon every now and then and a simple soft reset usually makes it come back.
