Why does my SD card cut out during a long sync?

So between Vindigo and AvantGo, my sync takes a really long time especially when it decides to refresh all pages (around 20-30 minutes). For some reason recently my SD card, where both Vindigo and AvantGo are stored will just cut out almost like it loses power or something, the sync will hang and i can't fix it w/o a soft reset. I can tell it's not seeing the card b/c on the monitor (SpB Pocket Plus) it swtiches from showing the free space to displaying a "N/C."

is there a setting or something somewhere that i need to switch to keep the SD card powered or something? I don't know, just thought i'd see if anyone had any ideas.

thanks,
mark

I am experiencing a similar problem with my X50v and 1Gb SD card. But my problem occurs while running TomTom. after about 20-30 minutes TomTom Freezes in exactly the same way as if the the SD card (where the maps are stored) has been removed. After shutting down TomTom, i can see from SBP Pocket plus that that the device no longer rocognises the card (N/C). I then notice that after resetting the card, it seems to take a few seconds to power up, indicated by BPB showing (N/C) for a few seconds after restart. This only seems to have started happening, with TomTom after upgrading to ROM 03, however I did notice it do a similar thing not long after I bought the card while setting it up, (using the card in the device to install large files).

Can anyone help? as taking the device off the screen mount, getting the stylus out and resetting the device every 20 minutes while driving at 80mph is not a prospect i look forward to having to do (luckily I have been able to pull over into laybys up till not to do it)

Thanks
Rik
