Auto power down does not work??

My X50v will not power down autmatically after the 1 minute setting. I've checked the box for "Turn Off Device if not used for..." under the Battery Power advanced tab.

I've tried other settings also but it will not turn off after the prescribed time.

I'm running AO2 and Marsware Weather Panel...(Could that be the Problem?)

Any help would be appreciated...I've found my X50v dead several times because it was left on on occasion.

Thanks, Joe

if you are using wifi, try turning it off before you let it power down. that will cause problems like you describe. microsoft hasn't firgured out yet that if you allow the unit to power down it should turn off even if connected by wifi.

I do have both WiFi and Bluetooth turned off and the problem still persists.

I thought there may be some other background program running that may keep the PDA active. I don't know if there's a way to check for programs running. I do run iLauncer which allows me to kill all "Unhidden" programs which are running but not any of the OS type of services that may be active. If there are any??

Activesync will do that if it is trying to connect i think but if you aren't connected to your pc it shouldn't be trying. you could check and kill it to be sure. Also, this is pretty simplistic so pardon me if it seems dumb but have you tried a soft reset?

Yep...It's MS OS so a soft reset happens often.

As I recall it worked oK until I updated to A02...

Maybe I should try AO3?

Thanks for the suggestions.

here's another thought. did you do a restore after the A02 update? there were problems with files getting restored from the OS doing this. If you did a restore you could try making a new backup and then doing a hard reset and see if it clears the problem. If it does then you would have to re-install your apps instead of doing a restore then make a new backup so you are covered.
