ActiveSync - No Connection

I have two Dell 4600 Computers (not quite identical), two Axim X50v PPC (purchased within 30 days of each other (May-June, 2005)) and two Sync Cradles.

One PPC (#2) will no longer sync.
I have tried all the combinations:

PPC #1 syncs just fine - using either cradle and either computer.

PPC #2 will not sync at all - when plugged into either cradle or either computer.

I have tried deleting the partnership for PPC #2 as well as soft resets. I have un-plugged / re-plugged the cradle, I have tried different USB ports (no hub). I have restarted the computers.

I am using the version of ActiveSync that shipped with the PPCs (probably NOT 3.8).

This appears to me to be a hardware problem on PPC#2 - i.e. connector, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

P.S. This is my first post. This is a great community!

Has PPC#2 ever been able to sync?

Sorry, Yes, PPC used to sync with no problems. There were NO symptoms (i.e. intermittent connections) before the problem showed up. One day it just stopped syncing.

Cheers.

I would do a hard reset on it. See if it still fails from a fresh start.

Sorry I haven't been able to report back for a little while.

On the PPC that will no longer sync, I did a backup to CF memory card, then a hard reset.

The PPC then would sync.

I then did a restore from the CF card

The PPC does NOT sync again !!!!

This PPC is set up to use a Dell Axim Executive Wireless Keyboard (bluetooth).

I am at a loss as to how to proceed - any ideas?

Thanks again.

Success. The problem seemed to be with the Dell Axim Executive Wireless Keyboard (bluetooth). After doing the hard reset and restore, I still could not sync. I then uninstalled the wireless keyboard and could sync! After reinstalling the wireless keyboard I still can sync. Go figure.
