Question Internet Explorer

I Have A Dell X50v Purchased In June 2005 From Dell In Texas. It Worked Fine On The Internet When I First Used It. I Recently Did A Hard Reset In Order To Clear Some Old Program Junk Out Of Memory. I Was Unable To Go On The Internet Through Any Lan Or Router After That. I Get Indication That My X50v Is Transmitting And Receiving A Radio Signal And It Says It Is Connected. If I Type In A Web Page Address In Internet Explorer At The Top Of The Screen I Get A Message That The Page You Are Looking For Cannot Be Found. Any One Out There Experienced This Type Of Problem? I Think Something Did Not Get Reloaded From Rom After The Reset. I Have Tried To Reset Several Times With The Same Results.

Seeing how it can send and recieve data, and we will assume its correct... it must be a flaw in your restore of your device... Perhaps you typed the wep key wrong or changed a security setting for your router. This is one of those times I would say scan for a open wifi, public is better, connect and see if you can use that.

I Have Tried All That You Suggest Without Any Success. I Believe That It Is A Faulty Restore Of Windows Or Windows Explorer From The Rom In My Device. I Found That The Rom Is Furnished To Dell By A Third Party Who Has Already Loaded All The Programs Into It. Dell Is Just Plugging Those Chips Into The X50v. I Am Still Waiting For A Reply From Dell. I Sent Them A E-mail About The Problem.

Disable power save located in start\settings\connections\dellwlan utility ...choose diasble not auto, and remove check from disable powersave to conserve power .Also reboot your router:approve:

also, so you don't have to do a hard reset again, try useing a sktools or memaind. They work for me.

Hi sgtsampay,

I recently had the similar problem (the page you are looking for cannot be found) and I followed your advice by using MemMaid. Now I am able to connect to the internet again via IE. Could you or anyone else explain why I encountered this problem and how MemMaid cured it? Is there any potentially critical problem with my newly acquired device?

Thanks,

Emily

Cool

Hi Calx50v,
I'm glad it worked. When you go on the internet, you download cookies and a few others things. None of these things are bad but after a long time, they fill up your storage ram. When you use memmaid, this program will get your ram back. This is the most liky cause why you couldn't connect to the internet. (the ram was to full) So in the future if you have this problem again, try the same solution. Also you might want to run the rpogram every week. You are very welcome. :approve: Bobby

I have the same problem and tried MemMaid, to no avail. does anyone else have any suggestions. I'm able to email and the transmitting and receiving are good, it's just really bugging me that I keep getting "The Page You Are Looking For Cannot Be Found".

Do you have a restore file? If you do, then just restore it. I sometimes have to do that with other programs.
