Arkon DM320 Powered Docking Cradle review

For those of you who have expressed interest in the Arkon DM320 Powered Hands-Free Docking Cradle these pictures are for you. I'll try to answer any questions or provide any information that is requested.

Overall, I am very impressed with its build quality. The locking clamps of the docking cradle hold the device very secure. My only compliants are that during "normal" driving the docking cradle shakes to the point where the display is almost unreadable and changing from portrait to landscape is not something that can be done easily.

Very nice. Seidio made $$ selling this type of mount. Now that Arkon has it with outstanding customer service, Arkon definitely seems to be a winner.

Just note that you might want to put your mount against your dashboard to prevent it from shaking. Gooseneck itself is not enough to prevent from shaking iI think.

Last night I moved the mount to where the docking cradle is resting on the dash. Hopefully this will eliminate the bouncing.

To avoid the shaking with the goose neck mount. See if you can get a car mount specific to your Ford at www.proclipUSA.com and screw your Seidio on it.

a few questions to Rack04 : Does this Arkon 320 mount charge well when x50v has low battery? No flickering screen ? Do the holding pads cover the buttons on the left side of the x50v?
My experience with the Seidio 2500 Gps ready holder is mixed. This afternoon it worked fine for an hour, but all of a sudden it creates an error on the x50v an i need to hit the email button to retart the X50v.
Since that, the Seidio 2500 makes a humming sound when i slid the x50v in, and its green light goes out...the moment I remove the x50v the green ligh goes back on and the humming stops...something wrong, I gues in the loading circuit (and guarantee on seidio just expired !).

Not the 320 Version. I'm not sure about the other dm3's .. but if you order your gps from buygpsnow.com they include a free splitter for your charger so you can charge both your axim and your gps device :hide:

This arkon charges my axim great! While i was playing a movie for my passenger, it charged my axim to full power. No flickering screen. And yes the sides have to be covered for this mount to secure the axim. :approve:
