What BT Audio drivers are needed for the A05 ROM update?

I've been following the BT headphone threads here and I have not actually seeen anyone talk about how they installed the newer Bluetooth high quality headphone drivers for an X50 that was upgraded to the A05 ROM.

I understand that you don't need to install the 1.5 HP driver, but do you need to install the HP 1.6 driver?

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has already done this for the A05 ROM specifically.

Thanks! :)

all I did was:

go here: http://www.pdagold.com/forums/view_t...sp?t=5012&fi=0

and download the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab

1.move bttrayCE.lnk from \windows\startup to somewhere safe ie bis or mydocs or somewhere just not starup folder :-)
2.reboot
3.install CAB to defaultlocation
4.move bttrayce.lnk back into startup folder ( if you want) or just go to your BT manager through startmenu
5.reboot
6. enable BT and bingo, HQ Audio setup available in BT Manager new.

I don't have BT headphones to know if this profile supports brands other than HP, but this update works great for me and there's no special instructions...you just install it

Thanks for the feedback guys!
I'm assumming you're all running the A05 ROM.

What I don't understand here is that the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab is older than the HP update. A number of users said to install the Broadcomm update followed by the HP update.
I see users above who have only installed one ot the other. I was under the impression that the HP update was version 1.6 and was better than the broadcomm update.
Comments?

I've been following that thread but everyone is basically using the A03 ROM. I haven't seen anyone actually install the newer BT stacks on the A05 ROM (and give any feedback).

I installed the Broadcomm stack, then updated with the HP stack (per SolSie's thread) and now I'm getting some weirdness. So I'm going to go back to an earlier backup and start again.

My system information says that it is A05 (07270500. This is the way it came from dell. As I said I installed the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpdate.cab. I think the hp is newer and or branded and i suspect that it also has the stack for remote control but don't know for sure.

OK, so at this point (and from what SolSie stated in the main thread section this morning) I can install either the 1.5 or the 1.6 update.
I'll try it tonite.
Thanks everyone :approve:

It's version 1.6 according to their site. I didn't see any profile for a remote, but it does include a BT keyboard HID profile. No branding whatsoever.

Well, I installed the HP 1.6.0.07 BT update and it sort-of worked. Then I discovered that my HT820 was turning itself off about 30 seconds after making the connection. It did the same thing on my Dell D600 laptop. :rolling:

After playing around with it some more (pairing and unpairing about 20 times), I got it to work on the Axim and boy, does it sound nice! :approve:

I just wish it wasn't so damned hard to set up. It seems that just about everyone has initial issues with setting up BT audio.

Glad it worked for you. Out of curiosity. Did you install using the hard reset method? What music player are you using and do all of the functions, such as pause, next and previous work?

I uninstalled the previous drivers and reinstalled only the HP update. I'm only using it with internet radio at this point. I will try to get the buttons mapped to wmp this weekend.
