I hope that Cmoy amp can provide better clarity and better quality of sound at lower volume level. And if you need to crank up, the sound still keep the same quality without distortion.

Again better headphones would yield more benefit of this device.

Couldn't you use dedicated headphone amp chips to simplify the circuit?

Also note that a very simple charge pump circuit can be used to run the amp from smaller batteries. There are a lot of charge pump chips available.

Confirmed: Yes, it doesnt just increase the volume. You should notice more clarity, instrument separation, and bass...

Hmm, sounds like an interesting little project. Just wondering, but can you not get or build a circuit to act as a decibel limiter - cut down/regulate the volume to a safe level, but without affecting the clarity of the sound?
