I think he is using a dongle, so does not matter WM 5.0 or not. Nothing unusual.

Where can I get this HackMaster? Is it free?

By the way, I tried installing the HP Bluetooth update but it couldn't detect my device. So I need this update? I'm using an Axim X30 High, ROM version A02.

Also, can I get the Play/Pause button on my Anycom headset to play/pause my audio file in TCPMP? When I try to use this button on the headset, it just disconnects from the Axim but the the audio still plays on the Axim speaker. I was wondering why people were staring at me when I first tried this, and then I finally realized it was because voices were coming from my pocket...

Thanks,

ApeMan
You need to apply the correct BT patch and not the HP patch. To use them just install the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpd.cab

Pocket Hackmaster is not free. Btw what BT Headset are you using?

Ok, thanks for the link.
I downloaded and installed the Broadcom Bluetooth Stack Patch on my Axim. It didn't seem to visibly change anything in my Bluetooth Manager or Bluetooth settings. It says I'm using: "Bluetooth for Windows CE BT-PPC Version 1.5.0 Build 0801"

The play/pause button still doesn't work. The skipping seems to be about the same as before.

I'm using Anycom BSH-100 Blue Stereo Headset. It's taking a while to get used to the fit. But it seems to be a decent headset.

There are several threads about BT headphones and relative quality aside, several people have gotten them to work. I have the same BT stack that you just installed and it works with the logitech for mp3 headphones.

I had to delete all my connections, clean leftover files from memory and do several resets to make sure old bt settings were gone. After that I installed the update and reinstalled the services from the bt manager which now includes a stereo profile. This update does snot include the remote (AVRCP) profile so you will not be able to use the pause, previous or next controls. the hp or motorola stack may provide that functionality, but since the logitech for mp3 doesn't have the buttons i haven't tried theo other updates. PM if you have questions.

Ok, after much trial and error, I finally got my headset working without skipping. I installed the new BT stack (from thread #18) and then I used the newly available profile in Bluetooth manager: "High Quality Audio on BT Headphones profile". This profile would not connect with my ANYCOM BSH-100 headset, or so it would seem. I found a little trick in one of the other threads to get it to work...When the The BT Manager still says "Connecting....Waiting for device", I press the Play/Pause/Call button on the headset. Then the connecting/pairing flashing light on the headset goes off which indicates it is connected. The BT Manager then says: "connection failed, unable to establish connection..." but it is a filthy liar because the audio is playing on my headset just fine. Then I just minimize (not close) the BT Manager and it stays connected.

For anyone who's interested: I'm running an Axim X30 High, ROM update A02, Processor Speed setting: Auto (208MHz), and TCPMP with High audio quality setting.

Thanks for the help,

ApeMan

Glad it's working for you. Now you can skip and your headphones won't. :)

I just bought i.tech s35 stereo handset. There are music skipping every 20 sec. When I changed from power auto to power save mode, music is ok without any problem. Patch is A05.

I'm buying the Logitech for MP3 bluetooth headset this evening when the Black Friday sales start ($100 with no rebate). Since I'm running WM5, I guess I'll have to use the dongle that comes with it. At least until Dell gets off their butt's and fix the bluetooth on WM5.

High Quality Audio doesn't really work with X30

Well, I've been using my headset for a while now. And after looking more closely, I'm pretty sure that the "High Quality Audio" profile was not really being used as I had thought. I think what was really happening was that when I push the connect button on my headset it would connect automatically to the "Headset" profile in the Bluetooth Manager. So if I have both profiles installed (High Quality & Headset), it will always connect to to the Headset profile. And if I remove the Headset profile, it still seems to work (so I thought it was using the High Quality profile). But I realized this is only temporary. Within a few days (possibly due to reseting a few times), it will no longer connect. So I always have to put the Headset profile back on. I tried this several times and always came to the same conclusion: That the High Quality audio never really worked. And I guess it only appeared to work because the settings for Headset profile were still in memory or something...

Now I just use the plain old Headset profile (without even trying the High Quality one anymore). I guess it's good enough for me. I've given up on trying to get it perfect...
It only seems to cause problems with quality if I am walking with it (in my pocket). It seems to be the vibration that causes fuzziness. Also, the sound will get a little fuzzy for a second when it starts a new track. It would be nice if it worked better, but I'm not going to bother trying anything else unless someone smarter comes up with a miraculous solution to the quality problem (and posts it here).

Thanks,

ApeMan

I was unable to eliminate the skipping until I purchased and applied "Pocket Hackmaster" as suggested above. Simply setting your CPU speed to 208mhz is not the same! Do a hard reset to clear out all your previous attempts, then use this patch:

http://www.pdagold.com/forums/view_t...sp?t=5012&fi=0

Then install Pocket Hackmaster.

WOW...I'm filled with hope that my Toshiba BT headphones just MIGHT someday work with my X50v from reading these posts.

I've got the WM2003 and I just updated the ROM to the A5. Now lets just pretend that I know very little about BT ( ).
Right now I can get the BT manager to find my device and actually identify it as BT headphones....then it just fails and says it could not load the device.

Can anyone point me to some threads that address this or explain to me how I can get these to work? In my previous efforts I believe I loaded some kind of BT stack from Toshiba or something similiar. Even after reading a lot of threads on the subject I'm pretty much at a loss at what to do or where to begin.

I would suspect that I don't have the Audio profile and possbily an outdated or incorrect BT stack.

Please help or point me in the right direction if you have the time.

Cheers,

Fogcutter
