I don't know why somebody has hard time using this profile
I got ONE TIME SUCCESS on my X50v, but it killed my HX2415 (requires hard reset)
I have promate headset (same as anycom), pair each other first, then pick the service
BAM!!! High Quality Headset Profile is there
it has some skip (every 30-75 seconds), not too bad
even I can do "Y" connection (Axim connects to both phone as modem and headphone)
however, I'd prefer MSI FreeStyle 300, which lets me to use my favorite headphones, but I'd prefer more on FreeStyle 110 (available ONLY in Asia, which uses single AAA battery, then you don't have to worry power runs out, because the battery can be bought easily)

It's all about the Hack..

for all those tearing your hair out trying to get your BT headphones to stop skipping it is all about Pocket Hack Master 2005..

After installing, reinstalling, hard reset...etc. this is what seemed to work..

I have a x50v revereted back to wm2003 a05.. I am using Anycom's BSH-100 stereo BT headset...(sound is good, not great)

First I installed the 1.6 Broadcom stack..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/view...ca8ae0e7bfb752

Then I installed the The Broadcom Bluetooth Stack Patch which has the Stereo Headphone profile..
http://www.pdagold.com/forums/view_topic.asp?t=5012

Then I installed Pocket Hack Master 2005..I tried neof1z's recommendation in post#5..
(CPU 208 - RAM 52 - LCD 52 - T T - SI 155 - MIPS 76 - STATUS PASS)

This seemed to eliminate most skipping, unless I started to use my axim (opening other applications, etc..) I tried higher cpu speeds not exceeding 624mhz (DO NOT TRY ANY CPU SETTINGS WITH OUT TESTING FIRST) I found I could use my unit with minimal skipping, but I still haven't tested it out that much.. definitely not perfect..

My last problem..

I cannot seem to get any of the buttons to work in either WMplayer or TCPMP.. during my many earlier attempts I did have pause button working, so I don't know what I might be missing..

I hope that helps, this seems like the best I can do before Dell gets its act together and updates the BT stack for WM5..

Will this Broadcom 1.6.0 0600 update work with my Axim X30? How do I install it? I extracted the rar file contents but I cannot copy some of the files to my Windows directory because apparently the old files (especially BtCeStack.dll) are still "in use" or "copy protected".

I did apply the Stack patch (CAB file) but it still says I'm running Version 1.5.0 Build 0801. I do have the High Quality audio profile present but it will not connect, (as I mentioned in a previous post). Maybe if I could install the 1.6.0 update and then the Stack patch, it would work. Any thoughts on how I could do this?

Thanks,

ApeMan

I had the exact same issue. I am not sure how to 'turn off' the file(s) in use so you can overwrite them. Unfortunately I had to Hard Reset and then before doing anything else I copied the bluetooth stack to the windows directory.

I cannot say if this will work for you, I hope you have sucess... also note that you have to leave pocket hack master running (minimized) otherwise WM2003 takes over the CPU speed.

let me know how it turns out. I feel your pain..

You might read this thread http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...hones+tutorial. Crash613 has a step by step.

I don't know if it applys to x30. I know the key is don't let the BT stack load so that you can replace the drivers. Either move the link from from the start up, or using the capability of a soft reset (if you have it) or use software that allows you to unload .dlls You also have to have patience during discovery and pairing. Also I would remove all BT pairs that you have developed and re create them using the new stack. ( I don't know if that is necessary, but it worked for me.) Good Luck.

sound..check.. buttons..fail..

I have the audio working how I like from my Anycom headset, but I cannot use the buttons on the headphones.. the weird part is that they were not working, but then all of a sudden (i don't know what i did or didn't) they were working..

Then after a hard reset and following the same procedure I did the first time to get the headphones working, the buttons do not work.

Why why why?

Is there somthing missing in my BT stack? (the buttons do function with my phone)..

Wrong. But it is not your fault, you can't test with your device.
The Broadcom stack has the avrcp profile. I have tested it with the globalsat BTH 820. stop, parse, start, worked with all softwares. In addition, next and previous worked with WMP9. But I had also a BT 450rx from iTech, and if I tried to touch any button, the connection with my loox 720 was automatically closed. So if you want remote controle, change your bluetooth stereo headset by another one.

HackMaster made it worse

I finally tried HackMaster. I installed the demo version and used the same setting you specify above. It makes my screen flicker very annoyingly. And the Bluetooth Audio is definitely worse! It now crackles all the time, instead of only once in a while. I'm using the same headset as you.

I'm still unable to install the Bluetooth 1.6 stack or get High Quality Audio to connect. I tried some of the above suggestions:

1) Went to Windows\Startup folder. This folder is empty except for "Switcher Bar.lnk" which I put there manually.

2) Tried using the double reset trick several times, while running SPB Pocket Plus version 2.5. It did not ever boot into Safe mode...

3) Tried a Hard Reset. Immediately after tried to replace and rename the files in the Windows directory. None of the files in the Windows could be deleted or renamed. Not even any of the non-BlueTooth files. Rename is not an option on any file in this directory. And going to Properties to try to rename any of these Windows files would not work either. Got the same error as below.

4) Tried using MemMaid. Terminated the process: BTTrayCE.exe. Still got the error "Cannot rename BTTrayCE.exe. The system could not find the specified file. Make sure memory is not full or write-protected and the file is not currently in use."

So I've tried every single suggestion here and in the links above. Not one will work for me to install the new Broadcom stack or get my Audio to stop skipping...

This is getting rather rediculous...

in number 2 you talk about double reset trick... this feature (safe mode) is only avaliable in version 3. it wasn't in 2.5

I just got the BlueTake BT headset with dongle. Works very nicely but range is only about 10ft but the headphones are comfortable and sound good.

yes. My ht820 headset works perfectly, never skips. I'm on wm2003seA05. All I've done is:
1. Installed the PDA2K_BroadcomCorp_BTUpd.cab
2. Run Pocket HackMaster, using "208/104/52/52..." setting

I use my headset & axim for music all the time when I'm running. I use TCPMP, and I make sure no other programs are running besides hackmaster. Once I set up the playlist, I use TCPMP to shut off the screen, and I enable the lock button. I get an hour+ of music, with never a skip. And all the headset buttons work.

OTOH, if any other program is running, I'll get skips and pauses.
