Modifying innopocket magnum

Just got my new axim X51v through on friday - had already ordered the innopocket case. Case is really nice but the supplied charging connector doesn't fit through the hole cut in the bottom of the case :realmad:

Anyone else have this problem? Am I going to have the same problem with all the connectors that fit into the bottom of my axim?(was thinking of getting a VGA out connector as well.....)

Any advice appreciated

Gareth

Axim is neat by the way

I have the same problem with the x50v. The dell-provided connector does not fit, as you have observed. However, I have some third-party accessories (travel charger, battery extender etc.)and the connectors on these fit without any problem. Sanding down the dell-connector may help, but haven't tried it myself.

i have this case and the dell cable and it fits on mine. I had to make sure the x50 was all the way in though. It fits better over time. Make sure you push it in the case fairly hard to get it all the way in.

I have pushed the Ax in the case until it will go no further. Despite this, the connector does not fit. Sometimes it will go in and supply power, but the connector does not click into place,so even a gentle pull on the connector will dislodge it. If only the connector can go in less than a mm, I think it will click into place.

Axim pushed fully in and the connector will not lock in. Has anyone filed down the case or connector?

Does anyone know which specific charge/VGA connectors will fit the case without modification?

drop it a few times on the bottom to 'flatten' it

:-)

Connector fits perfect on mine. Actually after a few weeks the lower black foam begins to take on the shape of the corners of the axim. So not to worry too much if it dosn't fit quite yet. On one of the pictures, I circled where you could cut into the plastic very lightly and the connector should fit fine after that. An Xacto knife works well with plastic.

The first picture shows where the foam begins to indent and allow the Axim to sit LOWER into the case.

I have three connectors (home, work, and car) and all needed to be shaved down with an Xacto knife, but it just takes a minute or so. Or you could take a Dremel tool to the case.

I used an exacto knife and shaved a little off the connector until it fits.

I would not recommend shaving your case, I would modify the cable only. First off its easier, secondly its hard to make the case look good after you've grinded the slot.

Ordered direct from innopocket and received it last week - even though their website shows out of stock. Like the case a lot. About to go and shave the connector down with a stanley knife....
(Never heard of an exacto knife guess that's a US thing?)
