Audible books again...?

Sorry for all these audible books questions (big reason why I bought this unit)...

I have a diesel truck (very loud) and I want to listen to my books while driving but that's virtually impossible driving in this truck, headphones while driving are illegal - So my question is is there anything I can purchase (like an empty FM signal transmitter) or whatever to get the volume up so I can hear it in the truck while driving, sound card of some type maybe - huh???

Thanks...

There are many FM transmitters. Belkin does a couple that are pretty good.
You could also use a tape converter.

You would turn the sound up all the way in the volume control AND in the options in the audible software.

Then your radio could amplify the sound and let you hear it.

1999cobra,
Not much of a Ford fan but I use the Logitech BT Freedom Headset and it works just fine and you only have the piece in one ear while your other ear is free for outside input. There other options are a FM Transmitter and hooking the Axim up through an Auxiliary imput on your head unit if it comes with one, other than that you would need to do some hardwiring and use an FM Modulator which I think sucks but it does do the job. :approve:

Check the laws of the states you are driving in and see if they allow you to drive with one ear covered (allowed in California according to the driver hand book).

In addition to FM transmitters and Audio Casette adapters, you might also want to look into CD decks or tape decks that have an aux input.

They're somewhat rare, but it's pretty nice to just need a standard audio cable to hook up my Axim to listen to it in my car.
