where to buy sync cable with wall charger connector?
My X51V came with a cradle but the included pamphlet shows (figure 5) a sync cable with a separate power connector. The wall charger plugs into this connector to power/recharge the Axim while it is plugged into the USB port for syncing.
All the sync/charge cables I've seen advertised do not have this separate connector and are doomed to fail, because the USB lines are limited to 500 ma whereas about 1.5 amps are required for recharging while the unit is in use.
Is Dell the only place I can get one of these connectors? I can't find it on their web site (I'm in Canada), or anywhere, for that matter. I gave up trying to navigate the automated phone maze when I called Dell.
You can check here to see if you find what you're loking for, or email them, Aximsite members also get 10% off.

I just got a USB travel charger/sync cable with automobile adapter delivered yesterday by UPS that I ordered directly from Belkin because it was less than the Dell site. Not exactly what you were asking about, but it syncs fine and charges quickly.
Thanks Menthol & AKAJohnDoe, but I need the cable as described so I can sync/use my Ax without removing it from a Magnum case. I could use the connector that has the power jack but no USB cable to recharge, and a separate cable to sync, but would prefer a single cable, since I know they exist. I just don't know where (other than from Dell, maybe).
I bought mine off Ebay, and I can tell you not to even bother. Even the sync cables with the AC adapters have limited charging capacity.
Thanks, Gigi. Did it have a separate connector for power integrated into the sync cable? If so, did you plug the power from the wall adapter into it while syncing? Or did it rely on power from the USB port? Any link to what you bought?

The kit included a regular USB sync cable and an AC Adapter that plugged into the USB end. You can't sync and charge via AC adapter at the same time.
The kit is similar to the one seen here, but not identical:
You can't sync and charge via AC adapter at the same time.
Thanks, Gigi. If you or anyone finds a source for the cable that does allow for syncing & charging via the AC adapter, at the same time, that's the one I'm after.

Is this what you're looking for? http://accessories.dell.com/sna/Prod...ctlisting.aspx
$9 CDN & you can add a 15% discount using R7GFP0J8GT2N2Z good until Dec 15. If you're in Toronto, go to Sayal Electronics on Victoria Pk and Steeles Av and get the 5v 2A charger for $3
And yes, you CAN charge and sync at the same time - I do it all the time (you just need to know how to do it )
I modified my USB charging/sync cable so that I can plug in the external charger and switch to either USB or Ext charge. You can also sync via BT and charge.

The Belkin I use Syncs and Charges without removal from my Innopocket Magnum Case. See it here. However, it does not sync and charge simultaneously. It is the exact same travel sync charger that Dell re-markets. It just costs less direct from Belkin.

You can only buy the cable you are looking for from Dell. None of the aftermarket places seem to have anything similiar. The Axim kit my wife bought for me included the regular desk cradle, but a RhinoSkin case. The thought of constantly sliding my Ax in and out of the case to cradle it seemed like a bad idea. I was using the Belkin 3-in-1 that came in the kit to sync, but was getting tired of lack of recharge while syncing. So, I bought two Dell Travel Sync cables and an additional AC adapter so I could have identical set-ups at home and at the office while the Belkin get's road warrior duty. This is the cable you see pictured on the quick start sheet that came with your Ax. :approve:

Thanks, Axim-Rob! That's the one, by the look of it and your description. I'll look for that on the Dell.ca site. Thanks, too, to others for their suggestions.

Try BoxWave, if they don't have any cable you might require, I would guess no one has.
