Modifying the axim cradle?

HI guys,

Needed some advice here...I jsut got a inno magnum case for my axim x51v. Its great, i love it. now i was thinking of a way to modify the cradle so taht i can sync my ax w/o having to take it out the case. Any ideas on how to go about this? any magnum users have htought about this? ...perhaps i can make use of my dremel...in some way to carve it out and bondo it smooth?
