Reflashing Dell Exec BT keyboard rom with thinkoutside's

I heard that the drivers from TO works better than Dell's. However, is it possible to reflash it back to Dell's keyboard ROM? Also, will this void my warranty? Thanks!

The TO drivers are installed like any other software. They can be removed if you do not like them. I am still using WM2003se, but i think it is the same for WM5. I installed the TO drivers and have been very happy with them. They will also install the driver for the mouse, but it does not affect the function of the keyboard. From what I can see, they can also be easily removed and any remnants in the registry can be found and also removed. This should not effect your warranty in any way. Good Luck

I'm not sure about your specific question but...

I have an X51v and just flashed the ROM a couple days ago (A04).
Tonight, I reinstalled my Think Outside Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse. I downloaded TO's latest driver for WM-2005. It took less than 5 minutes to have both the keyboard and mouse working together. That's 100% improvement over getting them installed on my previous X50v!

I'm guessing that Dell's keyboard is the Think Outside Keyboard.

Don't know if that info helps at all. Good luck! :approve:

PS: I installed the software to the "device" NOT the SD or CF card!

But from what I heard, there's an option in the TO's driver to "flash the hardware rom" of the keyboard. Is that true? I still have another week before I receive the keyboard from Dell.

I haven't tried to upgrade the executive keyboard's firmware from TO. Check on dell's forum or ask support to see if you will have any warranty issues if you do. I know that dell has released an updated driver, but since i haven't had any problems with the stowaway driver i haven't looked at it or know if it offers firmware upgrades.
