Verizon sucks!

I walked into the local store and inquired about purchasing data to access the internet any time and any where using the x50v. I was told by customer service that the only way to surf the net thru verizon is to purchase a pda/phone such as the Treo 650, etc., or to purchase a data card and insert it into the lap top, as their bt enabled phones are limited to the use of the hand-free head set! :realmad: Any one accessing the internet with the x50v using data coming from the cell phone? If yes, what provider? Thanks in advance.

A data plan from AT&T (now Cingular) will do this. I've used a S-E T68i, a S-E T616, and a Motorola V600 via BT to the GPRS network. Currently using the T616 'cause I like the form better than the V600 flip-phone form factor.

They don't want you to know it (and since it's not an "official" feature, they may pull it at any time), but Verizon does currently allow you to connect via cell phone to their 1xRT network. I use it with a Motorola V710 via bluetooth and I get around 100 kb/s tops. Not blazing, but great for email or light browsing. It only uses plan minutes, but I seem to remember that you had to have the Nationwide Access plan to have it work. Try looking over at HowardForums for more info.
