Another Keyboard Related Question
Aighty i think i am about to give up on the quest for a none wireless or bt keyboard and go to BT soon...
Some questions while i have been looking.. I found one for 56 dollars it states it is a Dell Executive keyboard XTBT01 but when i looked it up i think XTBT01 is a think outside (i know they are the same thing but one has different model numbers), but i can't find exactly if it is and if it is the right one for the x51v or if it is the one for the x30.

I have an X51v and use the Think Outside BT keyboard and BT mouse. They both work great! I bought mine on e-bay as a set for a good price. Why stick with Dell?

Just be sure to go to Think Outside's web site and get the latest drivers.

it is a question of drivers. the keyboards are essentially the same. you can go to dell and get the latest drivers, but i would recommend you go to TO and type in your model number and OS and they will direct you to a driver. enjoy!

ps i have used dell executive keyboard and a TO mouse with the latest TO drivers on an x50v and it is awesome.

I've got the Dell Exec Keyboard XTBT01 and have to reconfig axim each time I use it - a major pain in the butt.
I read on the forum that it would be better to use the TO driver, so I uninstalled the Dell and reinstalled TO but now it says I can't connect to the keyboard.

Anyone have any suggestions? Cuz right now, I am grateful for any you may have.

BTW -- I'm using a x50v Japanese lang.
Keyboard is Dell Exec XTBT01 Japanese lang as well, so obv the driver is Japanese lang too.

I originally installed the dell drivers and when i installed the TO drivers, i had multiple drivers icons, the whole 9 yards.

I can't remember exactly what i did, but it i can't remember the exact steps. it essentially deleted all bt keyboard references on the ppc and in the registry. also do not configure the keyboard using the bt manager, as it will point you to the native HID (human interface driver)(who thinks up these names?) or keyboard driver. this will not work for the TO kb. you have to use the stowaway driver icon to configure, pair and use the kb.

Hope this helps. Also I do not have to repair or other do anything to use either the mouse or the kb. turn the mouse on, wait a second and the pointer appears. great at the desk with the ppc in the cradle.
