Bad experience with cases.com
This is a branch-off from my current http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=107855
thread.

So anyways I emailed back and forth with cases.com and tried to ask them if I could exchange cases because I had a PDAir case that had a nonremovable knob. I explained to them when I had purchased the PDAir Aluminum case with extended battery fit, I had bought it because I thought the knob was removable (the pictures on the site didn't show any knob on the case). This representative, Roman, from Aluron Inc. told me that my case was riveted and that they "just" received a newer model that had a removable knob. I'll be darn, but I'm not sure if this is some cheap-ass way to get more business from them. Because I had opened the package (it has to be "UNUSED and with COMPLETE ORIGINAL PACKAGING"), I can't exchange nor return it. So now it's forty-bucks down the drain and a case with a knob I don't want ... Sorry for the rant, I just wanted to release some steam.

In the end, I have two options: either drill this knob out, or I could just resell this case on this site.

I can understand why you're upset. Seems strange to a non-removable belt connector.

I have personally talked with Slava from cases.com and he agreed to give me a new case with a detachable knob. In fact I just recieved the new shipment today after I RMAed the old one. Though it is black (not the original silver I first ordered - they ran out of it), I'm glad to see I finally got a case with no damn undetachable knob... Great job guys at cases.com.

That's great that they took care of the problem. There is no way you should have to mod a case after you get it b/c they changed it w/o letting you know in advance. I read all the posts on this and the other thread and some of the suggestions were crazy. Why would you spend $40 only to have use a drill or vice grip to get the case you originally ordered.

I'm glad you got what you wanted originally. Sometimes you have to complain a little to keep a company honest, but they responded well. Personally I'd rather have black anyway.

They do good work. I had a belt clip break and it was replaced. No questions asked. I was worried I would have to buy another case or spend $12+ to get a cheap piece of plastic that never should have broken to begin with. Made me feel wamr anf fuzzy all over when the new clip arrived.

I had the same problem. Reviews of the PDAir Case said the belt clip knob was removable. The pictures of it on their website showed the case with no belt clip knob.

When I opened the packaging it looked like someone had opened it up and glued this new knob on it. They should have just put it in the packaging and let me decide to attach it or not.

When I emailed them about the person who responded was so rude. The name you mentioned sounds familiar. He attached a picture of the case in the email (a picture of the front of the case), this was his proof that the picture on their website didn't show it was removable. He also cut and pasted a big long blurb about the great new belt clip design. He also went on emphatically that they didn't do anything wrong and that I got what I payed for. It was a terrible response from a company to a valid complaint from a customer. I question ordering from them again.

Great this probably means the pDair case I have coming from eXpansys has a big phat knob attached. Oh well, I'll send them a fiery explicit email and then go down to the tool shed and use some brute force and ignorance to try to get it off.
