I use it with my X51, haven't tried the car adapter yet but the wall adapter works fine.

Based on this i think it only works with the X5 and not the X50 series.

Not sure which one you have there (or where you're getting your info from), but the Belkin part numbers for the X50/X51 series are F8D0004 and F8D0005 (the former including the wall and car chargers, and the latter only including the car charger).
