Does ActiveSync have to be installed.
Does ActiveSync have to be installed on a computer in order for my Axim x51v to charge with a usb cable such as this BELKIN
USB Sync Charger Kit for Dell Axim X50/X51 ?

I would like to charge it at work, but I don't want to install the software.

Any good deals out there for the cable. I don't need an auto charger for it. Any brand of cables I shouldn't buy, or will any brand work.

By the way I've had my Axim for a week now. I've had minimal problems and think it's great. Thanks to everybody at this site for helping with my questions.

No, you don't need ActiveSync to charge. Be aware, however, you will most likely need to have the device powered OFF to charge when the battery gets low. Check out this thread for more info:

As long as the pc or laptop is on the usb ports get power. This means you can charge your axim from any usb port.
