I was talking about the RCA cable version. Thats the one I am waiting on...
I'm not sure what he said about the S-Video
Theres no mention of an RCA cable. Just the one at the top of the thread for $25 that has a usb connector. He also asked what we thought about a version with S-video, he said it would probably cost more. Another person had asked about RCA though. I see no point going RCA (unless it offered it as well as S-video) as the quality sucks much more than S-Video. Also S-Video to RCA cables are cheap.
I agree entirely. If Chrismax is making a cable that does a direct tv-out, I would much more prefer S-Video than A/V. S-Video has a higher line count and better quality in general. Man these cable are going to be sweet!

The reason I'd be interested in s-video is for video playback to mid-range TVs and portable/car LCDs. You do not see VGA in TVs until you get to higher end displays, same goes for portable (6-7") LCDs.
All my new and recent monitors have VGA, even my old ones.
In fact, the I/O circuitry is actually cheaper for VGA because there's no need to combine and split the individual signals. The only disadvantage is the cost of wiring, but for a short run, it's not significant (it only applies to very long runs like security cameras).

I got a PM from him indicating that he was going to make a RCA version. I am under the impression that the S-Video to RCA adapter causes some distortion.
I am very excited about it. I am looking at different monitors for my car that I am going to mount on the dash. Imagine looking at GPS through a 10" monitor! Also, I am getting a new pioneer deck that will have audio in. That why I need the RCA cable. The S-Video will work with a conversion if need be. My car is going to rock!
Nice to see someone with an interest in cables! I bought my 51v for the sole purpose of NOT carrying round a laptop to deliver presentations. so far I am very disappointed. Dell, in their infinite wisdom, seem to have discontinued the presentation bundle.... so what's the point in continued ownership of an expensive calendar... my mobile phone has got one.... and that was free! As was the one the my local paper shop gave me. Only the lead in the pencil runs out and then it can be sharpened! The 51v battery lasts no more than 8 switch ons during the day before requiring a reset.
Can anyone tell me.... what is the point of continued ownership of this 51v? It does not meet my purpose, it switches itself off, the uk customer service is crap, should I go on?
So is the VGA to S-video out going to be made available seperatly? I already have your great VGA cable.
Is the VGA-SVideo require power to run?
YES, YOU CAN BUY SEPERATELY.
IT CAN WORK WITH :
1. USB POWER
2. AC POWER ADAPTOR:(X50V/X51V ADAPTOR SO YOU DONT NEED TO PAY EXTRA MONEY FOR EXTRA POWER ADAPTOR)
