Problems with Ridata 2GB 150X SD card
I have an X50v and have been using San Disk 512MB SD cards without any problems. Today I tried a "Ridata 2GB Pro 150X" SD card and have hit problems.
I have written the details below, but essentially would like to know the following:
1) Can you use X150 SD cards in the X50v or is it best to use X60 SD cards like my old San Disk 512MB cards?
2) Can you take out/put in SD cards when the X50v is turned on, or can this corrupt the SD card?
3)Is there any way of reformatting an SD card?
The Details
The "Ridata 2GB Pro 150X" SD card was brand new today and I tried it in a digital camera before putting in my Axim and it worked fine.
When I put the card in my Axim and tried to sync music files. The computer recognised the SD card in the Axim (and I could see the Axim recognised the SD card by going to "settings",then "memory", then "storage card". When I tried to sync a single song, the sync would start, get to about 20% complete and then abort.
After this happened I checked to see if the Axim was still recognising the SD card by going to "settings",then "memory", then "storage card". Normally, it should say "SD card" on this screen, but instead read "SD card not installed".
I tried taking the SD card out and putting it back in again. It would then recognise the card but indicated on the "memory/storage card" page that the memory was full! I took it out again and put it back again and it recognised the card and showed the card was empty. However, when I tried to sync the music files, the sync would start, get to about 20% complete and then abort.
I then tried putting the "Ridata 2GB Pro 150X" back into the digital camera. It no longer worked (despite working fine before I'd put it into the X50v)and an error message came up on the camera screen "card not usable". Does anybody know how to fix these problems or can anyone recommend a 2GB card that they know works? I'd really appreciate any help.
Cheers,
Ross
