I've used both and found that I greatly prefer hard cases.

Good thing my iPaq has a magnesium case eh? This plus the SENA makes it sturdy and beautiful, a dangerous combination.

I prefer aluminum over leather for protection vs. looks.

I don't like my pdair w/ extended battery simply because I'm right handed and found that opening from left to right really awkward to use and hold. my handspring visor edge opens right to left so it's more user friendly.

I sacrificed battery power for convienience and bought the magnum. I only swap back if I'm on a longer trip without access to an ac or dc outlet.
