Anyone have a 1800mAh extended battery (any idea if it fits into a hard case?)
Im looking at the extended 1800mAh battery:

Now I don't like soft cases much, they don't protect the axim the way I want it protected. So the question is, will a "2mm thicker" axim fit into a hard case? (these cases usually have a soft lining that perhaps can be squeezed a bit to fit the extra 2mm?)

Yeah, I have an Inno Magnum coming.

Will I have any other battery options other than the 1100, or is getting the 'Socket' pack the way to go?

I have the 1800mAH from mugen and use the standard Rhinoskin hardcase I received from dell. I removed the little rubber thing in the middle of the case and, the fit is tight at the top edges...but with a little help the axim fits nice and snug....works great... I just lubbb the battery life off the 1800 and its not that noticeable from the standard.

Thank you for the reply jaykim. im still slightly doubtful though. I do believe you of course but the question has more to do with 'physics'. The reason the rubber thing is in the case is to 'break the bump' whenever you hit something. If you remove it and then drop the case, will it survive?

no other battery option as it's mighty snug.

I would be interested to know if anyone has cut an opening in the back of a magnum case, so the battery and battery door could be installed through the opening after fitting the Axim into the case.

I think all soft cases will accomodate the 1800mAH battery, since it's not a lot bigger than the stock battery. I will find out soon if my soft case takes it with no problems. The soft case does a dandy job of absorbing shock, too.
