Great choice, with the number keys on the top row, I like it better then the Think Outside keyboard.

There is only one version of the drivers from Palm that work on the Axim, so use the ones from the CD and make sure they are for Windows 2003 and not for Palm Pilot.

For a brief moment, after placing the keyboard and Axim together, I was able to get lots and lots of "8's" whenever I pressed any key...but now NOTHING again.

This is extremely important, the "Wireless Keyboard" is made by Think Outside. The "Universal Wireless Keyboard by Palm" is made by Darfon. Darfon has not published any drivers on their site, so use the ones from the CD. If you use the Think Outside driver, your will see garbage on your screen.
How do I know this? I own the "Universal Wireless Keyboard by Palm" and I tried to install the Think Outside drivers and garbage is exactly what I saw on my Axim.
Here is what you need to do.
- Unistall the Palm and Think Outside from your PDA
- Unistall the Palm and Think Outside from your Computer
- Go to the ActiveSync directory. usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync and delete the Palm (Darfron Keyboard) and Think Outside drivers / folders
- Revisit steps 1 - 3 to make sure the drivers are removed
- Restart your computer
- Soft reset your Axim
- Install the Windows 2003 drivers from the CD
- Soft reset your Axim
- Make sure the Axim can accept all incomming beams, look under Settings\Connections\Beam (or something similiar, depending on your OS)
- Open the "Foldable Keyboard" program under Start\Programs and make sure the "Enable Keyboard" is checked
- Unfold the keyboard and swing out the arm
- The IR transceiver is located above the power button. Make sure the tip of the keyboard arm is facing the power button
- Start typing
I tried to make these instructions as basic as possible, sometime even the smartest person can over look the simplist step.
If you are able to get your keyboard to work, or if there is a better wording I can use, please PM me. I will edit this post with the alternative verbage.
Good luck!
