Battery with more mAh but same (physical) size
A while back I remember reading somewhere that there was a new battery in development for the Ax which had more power (mAh) but was the same size (or it was just about big enough to fit under the existing Ax cover).

Did anything ever become of this? I want a bit more battery life but I don't really want to ruin the Ax's smooth look and increase it thickness even more.

Thanks for the link, it still makes it bigger, but as the KB says it's only very slightly bigger. Might be one to consider.

It's a few mm thicker than the standard battery but will fit in most soft cases with no problems. I use it in my Sena case. I would not consider this battery for hard cases unless you're willing to do some modding.

not only that but why not just have a stock spare battery, otherwise you're carrying around a battery door also.
