I would suggest one of the senacases flip-top opening cases if you're a big note-taker - as I believe they're much easier to work with then the metal cases that open like a book, but still offer a good level of protection. And they look very professional and elegant.

Am I just blindingly lucky (anyone who knows me ... shut up

), or is the x50v really resistant to scratches on the screen? I avoided a protector because when I first got it I was worried about how the vga screen might look through another layer of film. I've had my Axim over a year, and not a single ding.
I've also dropped it a few times, and not a scratch on the case. Granted I don't go slamming it into concrete, but if it were prone to damage, I'd have something visible.
