Working well with my x51v, a mono bluetooth headset and Skype. Quality may not be as good as a wired one, but it's worth a try especially if you have a bluetooth headset.

Tell me! Do you have any problem with the pc's connection or with your phone?
I'm afraid to install this program and end with a big problem, because I have everything working fine, less the mono bluetooth headset and skype.

If you're concerned the BT stack will mess up your current configuration, do a backup first before trying. If you have problems, just restore.

As suggested, a backup should be done if you are worried, but the widcomm stack can be easily uninstalled if you do not like it. I have no problems connecting to my cell phone and use its GPRS. As for the PC, I do not connect to it via bluetooth, but I've not heard of problems that most people cannot solve. I had recently tried once to test the connection and it synced fine.

Dell sells a $29 headset with mic for the X51/X50 line, but I can't seem to find anybody on this forum that has one and is willing to say how well they work.
I got them to use up some budget dollars, thought it would be easier to get them with my order rather than later. Now, I am wondering just what they are for. This thread doesn't specify that, so allow me to ask this very pasic question - what is the use of headphones with a mic?

In general, to use your Axim with VOIP applications such as Skype. The headphones provide privacy and the mic avoids the problem of having to hold your Axim up to your mouth each time you want to speak.
These adapters appear to be either for a two plug headset (like for a PC) or just a microphone alone. Is there an adapter that allows you to plug in a standard 2.5mm cell phone mono headset (single 3 conductor plug) into the X51v jack? Or am I not understanding what these adapters do?
mm
This adaptor allows you to use both an external microphone and a stereo headphone/speaker for recording or Skype program with your Pocket PC device. It converts the single 3.5 mm Jack on the device into a double usage device, a standard 3.5 mm microphone female jack (for audio in) and 3.5 mm headphone jack (for audio out). This adaptor cable is approximately 4-inch long.
Edit: Nevermind - you wanted a CELL PHONE adapter plug. I don't know if this one will do the job, but it's a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter, and notes that 2.5mm headsets are supported.
Yeah, that might be what I'm looking for but I'm concerned that the jack only has 3 conductors. Does this mean that it's for stereo out only or will the microphone on the headset work (audio in)?
mm
Edit: At that price it doesn't matter. I would just buy a bluetooth headset before I would pay $16 for an adapter.
Edit2: Oh that's Canadian. So it's only $14.28(before shipping). What a deal.
