Since getting my x50v a few months ago, I've been using the standard slip case it comes with. It does the job, and I feel confident it will save my Axim from any knocks while in my pocket. However I don't really like the whole having to remove it from the case thing, and having to put the case somewhere I won't lose it.
To remedy this I bought a Bellagio leather case from ebay the other day, as I liked the fliptop opening and the fact that the Axim can still sit in its cradle while fitted. However I'm not very happy with the size, which seems quite bulky now I actually have it in my hands. Whereas the old slipcase just about qualified as acceptable to keep in my pocket, this is too much. I'll probably throw it back on ebay, but it got me thinking about just what I want in a case.
Firstly, I realise now that I don't really want a case as such. I feel no real need to encase the whole device, as the only part I'm worried about is the screen. So long as I have something solid over that I'll be happy. Thinking on, I was really happy with the fliptop cover that came attached as standard to my Palm m130. It had a double hinge such that when it was open it could be held flush against the back of the device, allowing it to be comfortably held as if it wasn't there. Best of all it only added a couple of millimetres to the Palm.
I would love it if such a cover could somehow be fitted to my Axim, but I can't quite see how. Perhaps something that fits tightly over the top, while still allowing access to the card slots, power button, etc? There are two small indentations above the top rubber pads on the back that could be used to click such a cover in place, perhaps, unless they serve some other purpose I'm unaware of.
Does anybody know what I'm prattling on about, or am I on my own here?
