Dell X51V Cell phone accessory
Hi

Is there and type of accessory that I can purchase that will make my X51V a cell phone or allow me to connect to the web wirelessly?? I'm looking for a sled attachment, or Compact Flash solution. I want to use the web when im away from my WIFI home connection. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks

you may be disappointed is you'd like to make X50/51 to phone
however, almost all bluetooth support phones can be used as GPRS modem

There are a few different solutions. Audiovox (now UTStarcom), Pretec and another manufacturer that escapes my brain right now all make CF GSM/GPRS devices to do what you want it to do. Here's an ebay link for something like what I think you want.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Audiovox-Toshiba...cmd ZViewItem

I would pay close attention to the devices as some are dual, tri, and quad band. You will more than likely need data service, but I've found that it's probably simpler and easier to get a workable bluetooth phone and connect to the internet through the cell phone. Then you wouldn't have to worry a bit about which provider you go with, just that your cell phone is Bluetooth DUN capable. If any of this doesn't make any sense, let me know and I will try to help you sort it out.

Yes, there are CF cards that will allow you to use CDMA or GSM on your Axim. They are pricey but should work for your purposes. Take a look at these threads for more info:
