Boxwave Cleartouch problems - Anybody use them?
I've had one on my x51v for a few days, and have come to the conclusion the words 'clear' and boxwave cleartouch have nothing in common. (This is not the 'crystal' variant btw).

Is it just me? Although it protects well enough, it has a kind of matt finish, and totally takes away the brilliance of the x51v screen.

I read elsewhere on the forum that the protector itself is protected by a piece of clear plastic on each side when packaged. To install you need to remove the first layer, apply the remainder to the screen, then remove the top sheet which has a 'remove me' sticker on it.

On mine, all I had was a bottom sheet that had a side tab saying 'remove me' on it. Nothing else on top, just this unsightly matt finish.

Can any experienced users of boxwave cleartouch tell me if there should definitely be a top cover, and whether it's just 'hidden'?!

You got the Anti-Glare, didn't you?

The matte finish is, as far as I can tell, what gives it it's "anti-glare" properties. It does kind of distort the screen a little bit; however, I personally like the texture. Other protectors seem too "smooth" to me.

I have their crystal version and they definately glare in even moderate sunlight. They are very clear and only minimally effect brightness. I guess there is a trade off with each of them. I do want to try the anti-glare version next time.

I'm using the Boxwave anti-glare screen protector. After using the cheapo screen protectors for a while, I don't mind the matte finish all that much. I'd rather have a matte finish than bubles all over the place.

I used to have a Boxwave Cleartouch Crystal. My last one was not a great experience. It didn't last nearly as long as the first one. I have since moved on to theinvisibleshield. I love it!

If you have antiglare, they reduce the quality a bit as they are tinted...it is because they are antiglare

The crystal version you cannot really tell is even on the unit, and in my mind reflects just as much as the standard screen does.....

i love the matte feeling of my anti-glare cleartouch. makes it feel like i'm writing on paper
and when i'm on the bus, i don't have to worry about sunlight. definately worth the 'drop in brilliance' imo.
