Why are Stylus packs so expensive?

Hi,

I want to buy a stylus pack for my Axim cause i'm a chaotic man, and losing my stylus is probably in the near future :hide:...
But when browsing for a pack i noticed all the quite high prices.
On Dell the pack costs 19,04,- euro's, which is about 23 dollars.
Don't you guys think that's a little overpriced for a 3 inch stick that has only two functions (using touchscreens, and softreset buttons)?

Look around at some of the supply sites. You can get a stylus that fits in the Axim which also has a pen (making it three functions (not that you'd want to write a long time with a pen that thin - it does come in handy occasionally). I just got one from Semsons for $4.50 (on sale from $9).

I don't know perhaps it's one of Dells ways to make money? The money they don't get on their axims. Perhaps they make it on acessories instead?

If you put together a car by purchasing the parts it would cost triple. Parts is a cash cow.

I just bought a 3-pack from Dell, figuring at some point I would lose my stylus, and I agree they're overpriced.

There are also styli that are like a pen that aren't terribly expensive and harder to loose! http://www.styluscentral.com/

Just look around!

I prefer the 3 in 1 pens myself. We have those Yafa pens gravity pens that have a built in stylus ($10-$20) works really nice and I'm always getting comments. Plus it feels a lot more comfortable writing with a pen with a stylus point verses a normal itty bitty OEM stylus. The only downside is the pen part is only so so. Getting a replacement refill is probably a good idea.

If people stopped buying them at HIGH prices...the price would likely drop. Still on my original stylus.
