iGo Power adapter compatible with X51v?
I have one of those iGo power adapters that claims to be able to charge just about any portable electronic device from the car's 12v DC source using interchangeable tips for specific devices. I bought it for my Samsung cell phone and it works great. But the iGo web site compatibility dropdown doesn't list the X50/51 even though they do have a tip that works with the 50/51. The website DOES list the X5 as being compatible. So I am wondering if there is a fundamental difference (required input voltage, current, etc.) between the X5 and X50 series or if the 50 series is just too new to be listed on iGo. Has anyone looked into this?

Yes, I have used it with my X51V too, with no problems so far. But I did send a request to iGo support asking about compatibility.

I am curious if these adapters are smart enough to sense and provide the correct charging voltage for each device or if they just port the 12-15v car supply through, which would surely charge anything that operates at a lower voltage but might be a little stiff for something like the X51v that has a nominal 5V battery.

I'll post iGo's reply when/if it comes.

I too am looking for this information, but what I wanted to add was that one day at work before applying the Activesync fix my Axim had dropped to about 13% avail.battery. I don't have a 2nd charger (picking one up soon) but did have the travel adapter in my bag, and borrowed a co-worker's x5 charger. Hooked it up, charged just fine.

IGO has a new model charger that sells for $50 at Radio Shack. It can put out 2amps at 5volts using the b07 tip. I've used it and it works. You need a power supply that can provide 2 amps to have adequate juice for charging and running the Axim at the same time. If you use one that can't supply 2amps you run the risk that the power supply could meltdown and even catch on fire. If you start with a fully charged battery then you need less current so it would be less likely to be a problem. If you try to put more than about 5.5v into an x50/51 it has protective circuitry that will stop the voltage from getting through but you can still kill the axim by doing that even with the protection.

Wow, I was just going to post this question after I couldn't find the info using search and here the thread is . Thanks for the info! I have the iGo juice and the dumb thing won't charge by Dell laptop's battery because, according to iGo, Dell did something that doesn't allow 3rd party chargers to charge the battery. Glad to discover Dell didn't do the same thing with the Axim. Thanks!

So this isn't a battery, it's just a power convertor, right? It takes the power from a source and lets you plug your device into it to get power from what I understand.

The igo seemed like a great idea at first. I bought an igo Juice as a backup charger for my laptop. It only cost about $50, but then I had to pay another $15 for a tip ($10 plus $5 shipping from igo), since none of the included tips work with my Acer laptop. Now to also use it to charge my Axim, I have to buy a $25 Dualpower adapter and another tip $15 ($10 and $5 shipping, since I've never been able to find the B07 tip anywhere locally). Another tip for my cell phone (there goes another $10-15.) All in all, it adds up to a pile of money and I'm still carrying around almost as much stuff as I would with separate dedicated adapters and a lot of the stuff is small tips that are easy to lose. Only real advantage is using the same adapters in the car, home and airplane.

Doesn't power up plugged in IGO Tip
Using the B07 tip seems to power the unit but will the unit will not turn on/wake up until you unplug tip. Does sound like it's working right. Has anyone tried this and had problems?

I have had the same problem - I have also found that the tip will allow you to power the device and keep from losing battery but it will NOT. I reapeat it will NOT charge the axim. They DO have the same block on the axim that they do on the laptop which will NOT allow you to charge the axim. This was REALLY a big disappointment.

I have the iGo Auto and the iGo Everywhere and have used both to charge my X51v with the B07 tip.

Also, I have an extra iGo Everywhere and 4 extra iGo Auto's that I picked up all on clearence if anybody is interested. I do not have any spare tips.
