Dell Axim X50V X51V vga presentation bundle usb cable S-out discus been deleted twice
Hi all,

Our thread about this cable is gone again. It has been deleted by someone.

Maybe it is because I mention that our cable is ready to sell in somewhere. I provide item number and profile name. So the thread is now gone. I email to administrator, Chris said he will take a look.

I remeber that forum rule is not allowed to provide link or related link to your product. Is it "Mention product sold at somewhere and provide item number and profile name, no link" not allowed in this forum ? Just read the reply from Chris, "It was apparently removed as an advertisement."

I need to post the thread again and again to discuss S-video.

Back to S-video discussion, we test the demo board that ADI shipped to us on both PC and X51V. It doesn't work well on PC and X51V. We need to check with ADI to see if this is a board issue or something else. Will give you an update once we get response from ADI.

This is the cable we currently have. We are working on S-video out.
Functions:
1. female VGA out to a monitor or projector.
2. DC plug for charging.
3. USB sync and charging.

Thanks,
Cable guys.

Hi guys,

We just post a new thread to tell people where to buy our cable if they like. We did the same thing as someone else did in this forum. We tell people where to buy ? Item number and profile name just as someone else did. But our thread was always deleted very soon, someone else's thread remain there. What's going on here ?

I just can not figure out why ? Will this forum treat people fair ?

I will add to this thread since it is very important that this cable be created.

This is a very important subject. Basically anyone can use a VGA-S-Video converter box (dc in powered) to get a signal out to their TV's, in comniation with the VGA cable from Dell or others.

No one has yet made a cable that does the the following:

VGA out, Sync USB, DC-in (power) and also have an S-Video jack.

Please, if you do make this cable, make it a MEGA cable. Yes of course the end is going to be somewhat bulky, but it easily beats having a converter box that needs a second power source.

I have a converter box at home, and it's good for leaving attached to the TV. But when I'm on the go, I want 1 cable and one power source.

This power source (DC-in) would feed the Axim and the VGA-S-Video converter the power they need. Anyone knows that to run a divx movie without lag, the Axim needs to be running at 624 Mhz, (Axim screen disabled) at least in most of my tests.

Sure you can have a USB power the Axim, which is good except you are still relying on the need for
A. Another cable
B. A computer to attach the USB cable to

If I want to hook the Axim up to a TV set, right away, I am not going to ask someone if I can borrow their laptop, to feed my USB to keep the setup going. There is just no appeal in that. I may as well haul the converter box with me to save the trouble.

If there can be a MEGA cable that does the above, that needs only 1 power source cable, you will easily sell ALOT of these MEGA cables. There is geek appeal, business appeal, ease of use, and setup appeal.

Just imagine the versatility and universal functionality of such a MEGA cable.

Another note, if you want to add AV jacks to the cable, then do so, (I don't care if it does, and wouldn't buy one based on that option alone) but I think that is getting far too complex, and supporting such an ancient format is overkill. Anyone can buy a S-Video to AV cable for very little $ to have that option.

Make a solution that is innovative and has a unique touch to it, and it will sell. It's just pure business sense.

Possibly you may have to add a second DC-in to power the VGA-S-Video portion (I pray you don't). But if you do, make available an adapter that has 2 jacks on it, one for the Axim, the other for the VGA-S-Video. Maybe an adapter like this already exists then you wouldn't have to make one at all!

I really hope you or someone, or any company designs a MEGA cable (with a fat bulky end) that can do any of this. It could be easily cross designed to work with any other Pocket PC's from other vendors that do VGA out. And you would be known and established as the MEGA cable authority with experience and quality on your side!

A cable like this would easily sell for $50 US because of its all in one functionality. Just make sure it works good and make some $$$

Cnris as in the creator of Aximsite Chris told you that?

Here's what you should do in that case. Talk to him, send him a pm maybe, e-mail even, something.

Did you do any of that?

I am not sure what a Mega cable is but I would buy your cable if it had, or worked with, s-video to composite cables. For presentations, VGA is enough (DB15), but for travelling and putting my video on the hotel TV, I need composite connectors. Most hotels use cheap TVs that do not have Svideo in.

It is also interesting that this thread

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=115203

has a listing for an eBay number. This cable package is what I originally was a huge fan of, until route185 started development of the MEGA cable. If this mega cable is created it would make the one by Chrismax already outdated. Perhaps by repeatedly delteting this thread, potential customers will not wait for route185's cable and get Chrismax's instead.

I am not trying to start anything negative here, but fair is fair. We will not publish any Ebay links in this thread from this point on.

All moderators will be obeyed, and not questioned as to their authority.

Now please (moderators and administrators) do not delete this thread as it is fairly important to Axim users like myself.

Route185 just start a new thread with a cool name and I will repost my end of things. But be sure to lay down the law, and warn anyone about Ebay links, or being sassy to moderators.. Then maybe this thread will stay around until you complete your MEGA cable.

So does the vga out cable also have audeo? I am more than a little confused with the multiple threads, but what I am looking for is not very popular. I am looking for a RCA Audeo and Video cable. I do not want to connect video through the bottom of my axim and another cable to the earphone jack! I saw that there is a vga cable to rca cable with audeo but I do not know if the Dell VGA cable provides audeo through it.

First person to make this cable wins my purchase!!!

I have the boxwave vga cable and I just purchased chrismax's vga/s-video converter cable set, but if this is an all-in-one type dealie, count me in.

I think this is an important cable to be made as well. If the moderators delete it again, it will only hurt the development of a product that many users here would like to have. That would be too bad. Personally, I have a standard cable from chrismax, but if something like this came along with composite/s-video out the end, I would encourage it's development & likely end up purchasing one.

Of course if you are using aximsite as a means of advertising your product, it seems only fair that you pay something for your advertising. As per forum rules etc...

If the connectro on the bottom of the Axim doesn't send any audio signals of any sort, (maybe it does but I doubt it, otherwise someone would have discussed it by now) I doubt you will get an all in one cable that has audio. You still are most likely going to have to connect to the headphone jack to get your audio signal. Now if Dell for the x60v would make the connector contain audio signals, without changing the shape or pin count, that would really rock because any of these guys like chrismax or route185 could easily create a new MEGA cable for it. I wish Dell would make a x60v already and also make it a phone! Dammit give me a phone!

You have been more than helpful in all of the threads! Thank you for taking the time to help us all out!

I will have to get the dual cord setup then!

I hate that...
