Axim x51v - To CF or SD?
My x51v is arriving tomorrow and I need some advice about which memory card works best. It looks like the SD cards are cheaper for a greater amount of storage, but most of the posts have mentioned CF.

Suggestions?

Cheap card sources?

Thanks!

Suggest both..

SD for application storage

CF for media

If you're only getting one get an SD. You may find some peripheral (i.e. GPS) that you will want to use your CF slot for.

I agree. The SD card slot doesn't have the same accessory capabilities, so slap some memory in there.

If you aren't going to be loading a ton of big media files on your Axim you may never need more memory than one SD card.

I keep my CF card slot free for when a snazzy accessory catches my eye.

SD memory access is also faster. Get a 1GB or more SD. Also, where are you shopping, that you're finding CF more expensive per GB than SD?

If you think you may want to use the CF for a fancy accessory, it makes sense to keep that free.

For me it's the other way round. I have got a 2Gb CF Card to keep the SD free.

The reason for this is to temporarily load the SD Card from my digital camera, which I do to:
a) Store photos on my permanent CF card
b) View photos on the Axim
c) Copy photos from the SD to my computer, via the Axim and its cradle.

Thanks for your suggestions.

What about the knockoff brands? Are they ok or do I need to go with the big name cards in ensure quality?
