Case suggestions
This is for all of you guys who use your axims as your primary mp3 Players. I would like to do the same the only thing is i like to jog and listen to my music. I am looking for a good case for jogging preferably one that has an arm band or something more secure then a belt clip. I tried the belt clip with my current case but it slid around so much i was worried it would fall off. Any suggestions? oh I have an X51!

man .... my Axim is too expensive for "active" mp3 listening. I would get a cheap memory only player (iRiver 512meg) for anything active. That's what I do, the Axim is for car/in house non-activity listening.

My job is to test out the axims for use on a submarine if they can't handle a little jogging they will never survive on a boat. besides if the case is good enough there is nothing to worry about. I am suggesting hard cases for on the boat though.

Hey ... what a terrific place to use an Ax! In close quarters like that it would be a real companion in the "rack".

Absolutly! The goal is to make life easier (and more enjoyable in that case). I really can't believe that nobody makes a jogging case for these. I can't be the only crazy person who wants one.

I use the Dell slip case and hold it in my hand as I run
I've sort of been waiting for the Sena aximsite branded leather case...

I know there was a thread about cases and someone had used a small camera bag (with a velco closure) and a belt loop on the back. They bought a plain compression elbow strap to slide through the loop. The controls are not accessible in this configuration. I tried it, but found that since the belt loop was in the middle, the case felt like it was wobbly. (I have a small arm). A larger loop on the back and some velcro to keep it from sliding around, may be just the ticket.

I then got a cheap silicon case (removed the flip cover) and extended the slits in the back so they were wide enough for the elbow strap. The ax doesn't move, but it just "seems" like it could pop out of the silicon. The screen is exposed so I may try to velcro the flip cover down. I've only logged about 10 miles in this configuration and maybe a week or so in the gym. I mostly use BT and keep the ax in the locker or the back pocket of my running shirt, but it's nice to know this is a possibility.

I understand the feeling that there are more rugged and appropriate music players for this, but i really do like the idea of using my ax to the max.
guess i should have gotten total care.

Some good suggestions. i might have to try some of them. i was just looking into making my own case i do a little bit of leather working (mostly belts and straps and stuff like that)but i am not that good with a sewing machine. I think your suggestions will work for now. I have allready tried every possible google combination i could think of. Nobody makes anything.

Probably the least chance for shake and impact to the device is to attach the PDA to your head.

I personally use a separate flash player for jogging.

kind of a sweatband and post it note all in one. hehe

I guess I don't think of any of this as "protection" for my ax, just another way of being able to use it. If I trip, it's probably toast. If I bump into the chest press machine 'cause I have no depth perception, it might get whacked. At least my ax will die happy and used. I won't have any regrets.

I just use one of my covers with button cutouts and shove it in a waist pack that I tighten down so it doesn't rattle around very much.
