Same Problem as everyone else. Here is how I solved the problem. (With everyones help of course)
1 Download new file from Belkin
2 Right click on file and extract files to folder
3 Click setup
At this point my add and remove program came up and it installed like a champ. Inserted the keyboard and was off running. All other attempts to get it to work on my x50v were pointless

I continue to get the same results one of the users a couple of posts ago. I've downloaded the driver directly from Belkin's site. However, when I open the file, Winzip apparently automatically opens the entire file and initiates the setup process. Then the black screen shows up with nothing to install.
Perhaps somehow opening it separately using Winzip somehow solves the problem? Any suggestions?

I take back what I said before. I followed the directions more carefully - downloaded a trial version of Winzip. Then extracted the files, clicked on setup and wallah - it worked - thanks to everyone else.

Would anyone be able to tell me if this is good for gaming, especially with morphgear? Are the button presses continuous and can several buttons be pressed at the same time? Also, does the thumb board use the axim's serial port or ir/bt?
Thanks!

CAB file...
Is there a public location where this cab file is located? I just got the keyboard in the mail today and was excited about not having to use the soft keyboard to SSH anymore with pocketPutty, and now have this setback to deal with.

I've tried the same thing myself already, and when I run the executable, it opens the add/remove programs window for the Axim, but doesn't proceed to add the thumb keyboard to the list of programs, or seemingly to do anything with it at all. Any suggestions? I don't have anything too out of the ordinary on the Axim, with the possible exception of Lotus mNotes, for work.

I got the file from Belkin, and the tech was very helpful. this is a copy of my original post>:)
Ok, here was my problem... (I actually got a very helpful tech from Belkin and he walked me through it!!) I needed to download the trial version of Winzip -(I'm cheap) and once that was on the computer... I right clicked on the Belkin file and got a list that included (extract to..). I extracted it to my desktop (needed to put it in a new folder- realized that after when they spread all over the desktop).... once I found the set-up file and clicked on that it recognized my Axim and it was installed (very quickly) I then snapped on the thumbboard and it worked! now I just have to see if I have small thumbs so I can work it!<
try this .... everyone else seems to have managed it once they had a real unzip program installed instead of windows xp unzip.

my hero
You guys are wonderful  I don't know why I try anything more than twice without coming here first, especially when I'm on my full size PC.
This driver is the biggest peice of Cr@P I've ever seen. And it's a crying shame, you had to get lucky to find a tech who knew what to tell you.
I bought mine on Ebay, since by now Belkin is out of stock, so mine came without drivers, instructions etc. No biggie, I'm a big girl, I can do anything or so my kids tell me, but This had me stumpped.
I've never sent anything back from ebay and I really didn't want to start now plus this thing looked brand new so I had a hard time beleiving it was broke. I didn't need winzip though. I use Izarc. ( Free) And when I right clicked I extracted it to it's own folder. I was really surprised to see a whole mess of icons pop up.
Thanks again. I have to type now

Thanks alot
Just wanted to say thank you for the information. I picked up the Belkin thumb board at a used electronics store. I tried installing the driver from the Belkin website but had no success. Extracting the files from the .exe first makes all the difference apparently.
Thanks again for posting the info.

Same problem, please send CAB
I am receiving the same corrupt CE file error. I have requested a second disk, although I don't think it will work since the 2 drivers available online and the first setup disk didn't work. I too tried opening the application on the palm after moving the file from the computer.
Please send copy of CAB file that you mention for Axim x50 and belkin thumb board f8d0502 via email. I'll check back on the post in a couple of days. By the way, both belkin and dell have no clue.
Thanks

THANKS!!!
Hope one day I have the knowledge to help another...

It works, This site is amazing
If only I had read a little further!!! I found what I needed to do on this site. It seems that the windows zip program is crap, what's new, and that all you need to do is download a real zip program, unzip the driver online, and then open the application. I opened it before my axim was even plugged in. Once it plugged in, the software automatically installed. Goes to show you that you all know your stuff.
Thank you,

I'm glad that you kept reading- the secret is in the type of zip program that your computer is using. Once there is a decent zip prog. installed, it automatically installs to the detected Ppc!
I hope this site stays as a source for all of us- what would we do for answers?
