Safest case question
Well, I am now awaiting a replacment Axim from Dell after my X51v fell onto a tile floor and the screen shattered (thank goodness for the accidental damage warranty). I am pretty darn irritated with myself for letting this happen - in about seven years of using a variety of PDAs I have never broken one, although I have dropped them before.

I think part of the problem may have been the case - I have a Bellagio Designs case, which I chose since I have had two prior PDAs with their cases and I really liked them for affordability and usability. It is difficult, however, to use the Axim in this case. The fit is just off. This, I believe, contributed to the incident because I actually had the Axim out of the case in order to use it.

Any suggestions for a case that you can actually use the Axim in? I prefer soft cases. I just don't want this to happen again - I am lost without my Axim.

Medgirl, any aluminum case will work. I have a generic aluminum one I bought from ebay for about $8 that has survived a fall on concrete. Others like to spend $30 to $45 at Aximcase.com. They all offer great protection. If you want the link to the one I bought pm me, otherwise check out Aximcase.

I went with the Innopocket case for the light weight, durability, and the flip cover.

Medgirl:

I too prefer the soft cases.

Purchased one for my GF, red. Very nice case and "seemingly" protects rather well.
Feels sturdy enough, nice in your hand.

soft cases absorb a fall, whereas hard cases won't. i second, recommend going to aximcases.com.

Is this the Covertec case? Is it easy to use the Axim in the case (in both portrait and landscape modes?

Yes, Covertec. Yes, easy to use in either portrait or landscape.

I was surprised with the magnet clasp, works very well.

This soft case is very sturdy. Well worth the bucks.
Looks great too. Certainly quality!
