Need some input from screen protector users
I've been doing some research on screen protectors to cover up my x51v and am torn between Boxwave and Invisible shield. How long do they last? I suck at installing screen protectors and have wasted 3 on my PSP . So an input here will be really appreciated. I would rather ship my unit for installation so ease of installation not a concern unless no one is ready to do it for me .

Well, I'm also bad at installing screen protectors. I bought the boxwaves and ended up ruining then trying to install ($15 down the drain). So I'd try something else unless you can find someone to install it for you.

Well, I seem to be one of only two who uses NuShield. But, I have used them since I had my X5. I now use them on my X50v and have loved them since the first time I tried them.

The nice thing about NuShield is that they don't adhere to your screen. They are made to fit and just "float" over your touchscreen. They also last at least four months for me (the one I'm currently using is going on 6 months now).

The way they fit is that they are made just slightly larger than the screen itself. You then fit them between the case and the screen by bending etc until it "pops" into place and then it just stays there. The first time you try it may be a little trying. But, once you get it the first time, it's a piece of cake after that.

They are also very cheap. You can check them out here.

Skyryder, input like yours is excellent and valuable! I looked in my Poll Thread and didn't find your comments there. I think lots of people would benefit from what you have to say. I think everyone gets programmed into buying a certain brand and it takes people like you to present a different point of view.

I have used .8mm clear plastic purchased from a fabric store, cut to size using a cardboard template for the last 5 plus years. The plastic is originally used as a table cloth covering. I purchased a square yard for under a buck. Once cut to the size of your screen it will cling to your PDA screen and you can smooth out any bubbles after its been applied. Mine last me between 6-12 months, can be removed and washed or cleaned. I have even applied pledge (using a cloth to spray a very small amount of pledge onto it first) to slick up the plastic. This process has worked for my Palm III, Sony 415, Sony 615, 2 Ipaq 4150s, and now my X51V.

Actually, i think just about any of them are acceptable. I go with the least expensive. I happen to also keep rain-X around for my car windshield. Using this on the protector before putting the protector on the Ax makes for a smooth interface. Suggest you re-calibrate the screen by going to Start | Settings | System | Screen after the protector is in place.

I would highly recommend theinvisibleshield. They're only $11.95 with free shipping. Plus, should you ever need one, they will send you free replacements for life. You can't go wrong. Check out their site and especially check out their demo video.

I have tried a few and found that " Martin Fields" are pretty good. It went on easy and looks clearer than others I have tried.

Ok, I'm intrigued. Does this "stick" to the screen? And, how clear is it?

I use both brando and armkit (the latter is for my phones)
work well so far, they "touch and hold", non adhesive layer makes job easier, use scotch tape to peel up and remove dust, make it 99% perfect
