Aluminum Case for X51V: RhinoSkin V.S. PDair, which one is better?
I am planning to get an aluminum case for my X51V. After lots of googling, it seems there're only 2 brands: RhinoSkin and PDair. My question is which one is better? I knew maybe no one have used 2 cases all. Also it seems RhinoSkin is available only at Dell.
Suggestions are welcome! Thanks and have a great weekend!
I would like to suggest the Innopocket Magnum case. It's a metal case that will also protect your Axim, but it's a flip cover so it's easier to hold. Works great!

Here's my two cents. The Magnum case does look very nice and it offers the flip-cover option. However, I actually prefer to have the cover open to the side since mostly I use my x50v in landscape mode, with the display set to real VGA.
I own two of the DS International aluminum cases (see the sticky thread and search for DSI,) the regular case for the x50v with Dell 1100mAH battery and the extended-battery case that accommodates the 2200mAH battery.
I don't own the Innopocket or Rhinoskin case hence I can't say for sure whether the DSI cases are identical/comparable to the aluminum cases from other brands. From the pictures they do look identical. What I can say is this: the DSI cases are less expensive ($16 each) and they do fit like a glove :approve: - not too tight to put in or take out yet not too loose for the Axim to slide without force; and the openings in the case align with the buttons/ports on the Axim perfectly. The entire interior is covered by a thin layer of neoprene so there is no worry it will scratch the Axim. The finish is very good, no sharp edges, everything lines up nicely, hinge pin is tight and just the right length - just a bit shorter than the hinges. Overall the DSI cases are excellent products, especially when the price is taken into consideration.

I have a Rhino Skin and it's aweful (I must have got a bum one). The pin that holds the cover on keeps sliding out and the PDa isn't snug at all and will fall out anytime it's not held right (happened once). I should mention that it's the case has never been dropped or used roughly. Miserable case (at least the one they sent me)... =/ I'm glad others have had a more positve experience though.

That pin fell out on me so much, it's what made me get my Magnum case.

looks like a decent case but anyone w/ something sticking out of the cf slot could not use it. i have had my rhino skin cover since x-mas 04 and it has not dissapointed me yet.
I just got myself a new x51, it hasn’t arrived yet. I got an aluminum case for it but I need an outer shell that can take a good beating.
I am looking for a strong carrying case that will take most vibrations; I drive to work on an ATV some times with my MTB meaning I usually take the rough roads Am kind’ a worried that my X51 will not be able to take the ride.
I looked at the “Otterbox armor 1900” looks interesting but a little on the expensive side, besides I just need something to transport my PDA that will hold the vibrations of a rough road.
