Actually, he may have problems with most of them. Very few have come out with drivers for WM5 and the versions for WM03, etc. don't seem to work with the new OS.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen enough threads to even have an idea of which cards will work.

It has to be a SD card to even work with your x51, let alone WM5.
I noticed that reading through the manual. Getting built-in wifi is the easiest.

Well i kind of got screwed with ebay the guy clearly said it was a 520mhz model with built in Wi-Fi and that wasn't the case so now i'm stuck with it... So I don't want to sell it, i'd rather find a good car for it

Found Compatible CF ComactFlash Card WiFi 802.11b with WM5 Windows Mobile 5
Hey guys, after a lot of searching I came across the AbiCom WL54-CF WiFi card that has drivers for WM5, Windows Mobile 5, what do you think? Here is the link: http://www.ambicom.com/support/insta...wl/g/index.htm

Your Dell Axim X51 WILL NOT work with A CF wifi card. Look at your manual, p.127, bottom right box. It says under Wireless Connectivity on x51 low (which is what you have) "SDIO card only (CF not supported)". Sorry, hope you can find a good SD Wifi card.

:exc: Have you actually tried using any of the card's i've mentioned? I have found several websites that say otherwise... And have found so far two CF cards that have WM5 drivers and that say tested with x51.
Here is the second one, Socket E500, Tested for Dell Axim X51/X51v devices CF Wireless LAN card drivers for Windows Mobile 5:
http://www.socketcom.com/support/sup...n.asp?Type=CF1
I think this is the one i'm going to buy...
Also another website:
http://www.bargainpda.com/default.as...l%2BAxim%2BX50
Some of the intitial rumors circulating about the X50 line have claimed that the low-end X50, which ships with just Bluetooth, can only add WiFi via an SDIO card, not via a CompactFlash card. As far as I can tell, this isn't correct. While I don't have a low-end unit to actually test, I've looked all through the specs that Dell provided, and nowhere have I seen anything to imply that the low-end X50 cannot use a CompactFlash WiFi card.
Don't just quote the user manual, dell only wants you to think that so you will go with the more expensive model.
Thanks

X51 416 will not work with CF Card for WIFI
I purchased the card discussed, i.e. the Ambicom CF SD card. The Axim 416 failed to recognize it even after updating the driver. After 2.5 hours on the phone with a "level 2" technician, I was advised I could ONLY use an SD card for the Wifi. Any suggestions by anyone where this worked? Any suggestions on where I can get an SD wifi card?

mine works!
I have an x51 416mhz, I tried the Sandisk Connect Plus card and it didn't work but the Dell TrueMobile 1180 CF card works great, got it on eBay, but you have to download the newer driver, from Dell for it. This model does work!

so, what are the cards that work with x51 wm5?
I've got confused. Does the ws54 cf work with the x51 416 or not? did anyone try that? and also how about the wl11-sd, any experience?
any other card for the x51 wm5?
finally after a hard reset I put my hulux 236 to work.
regards
Carlos

O.K. All the messages above are pretty good, and are helpfull. But the truth of the matter is, you can use any CF card, if you download PerfectPrism Install it, follow the directions to the tee. I have a SMC card, found out that SMC no longer supports it, Dell no longer seems to support anything. And Perfect Prism lets it work great. No problems at all with it. :approve:
