Couldn't tell ya for sure as I have the x51v .... I have the BlueTake dongle for my mini's until the ROM update that includes support ever comes out.

I'm also looking for a bluetooth headphone option for my x50v. I do some running and would like to make use of the MP3-player aspect of the x50v and so far,the regular headphone jack has been a problem, so I figured if bluetooth headphones would work, that would be nice.

Any suggestions?

If you have an x50 running windows mobile 2003 SE you have installed the Broadcom Bluetooth update which adds the a2dp profile, you will be able to connect any bluetooth headphones without the adaptor.

I purchased a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones on eBay for $50. Hopper Express Bluetooth Hi-Fi Stereo Headphones BT-2005. When connected diretly to my x50v the qaulity isn't near as good as when I'm using the adaptor. Also when I walk briskly the audio cuts in and out alot and I would assume if I tried to run it could only be worse. When Im using the adaptor it cuts in and out every once in a while.

Remember it requires extra cpu power and running bluetooth all the time and will drain your Pocket Pcs battery quicker. Also not all sound will be transmited to the headphones, most games don't work with them. Also when running Wi-Fi at the same time will make it cut in and out. Streaming music or video and listening on bluetooth headphones is not gonna happen.

It could just be my pair of bluetooth headphones, but who knows. Ive gone back to my wired headphones.

Lofty...sounds like you've talked me out of my search. I am running 2003SE but have not done the bluetooth update...probably not too difficult I suppose...but the expense of the headphones may be too much, given the problems you've experienced and my intended usage (jogging!).

If I can find them cheap, I may go for it...otherwise, I guess I'll go for a good pair of wired phones.

Thanks!

I managed to get my pair of BT450RX i-PHONEs to work but only after hacking the BT stack thanks to the tips here. Have a hunt for 'A2DP' in the Hardware troubles Forum and you'll see my old thread:

http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...=bt+headphones

They work and have really great stereo sound provided the BT stack is updated with the A2DP profile. Unfortunately the buttons still don't work with the Axim, even after this hack. I know they work with my desktop because I bought the BlueTake dongle and tried them out.

And the volume when using my Axim doesn't go below a certain level although it can go up and down using the built-in volume control provided you stay above this level.

On the upside they're great for street use. On the downside they eat up the poor old standard battery in less than a hour.
