EDIT! - boxwave crystals arent worth $30
EDITED... issue fixed

I originally had a problem when i got my boxwave crystal protector... it didnt fit the entire screen and i was under the impression that it was the way they were created (service rep said theres supposed to be a small gap). However, i wrote a few more emails and they gave me exact measurements and i compared it to mine, and it turns out they sent me the wrong model (x51 instead of x51v).

Long story short, they immediately sent me a replacement at no additional cost. I love the correct protector, and it fits just fine. Picture is great, and it seems extremely durable. I only scratched it once but that was my fault and it definitely saved my screen.

Id recommend these... theyre awesome.

And boxwave has the absolute best customer service I've ever dealt with.

Sean

To top it all off, the stupid thing keeps unpeeling from my screen at the bottom. This is even more annoying than getting a bubble in a cheap screen protector.

Id rather use the crappy protectors that came with the axim from dell. They may scratch after about 5 minutes of use, but at least they cover the whole screen.

What would you all reccomend for my next screen protector purchase (x51v)? Id prefer something that actually covers almost all of the screen unlike these boxwaves.

Suggestions welcome.

Sean
Mine covers the whole screen. Maybe you got one for a different model. I find Boxwave very good. This is my first PDA and my first protector. Installed without any problems. I peeled 3/4 of it and stuck it up into the top left corner. After it was aligned I peeled off the rest and applied it. Then I peeled off the top coat. I didn't even have to use the applicator to press out any bubbles.

I ordered the one from their website that says for x51v

they seem really durable but theres a line down the entire left hand side of my screen (where the screenguard stops and the regular screen is exposed).

Did you order yours from boxwave's site or get it from like a third party site?

the sleeve it came in just says pocket pc, it doesnt mention x51v at all but it definitely did on their website

The best screen protectors I've ever found are from http://www.pda-now.com . I *really* like their 'ultra-clear' protectors. It goes on easily with no bubbles, removes cleanly/easily and is almost invisible. Best part is that after 18 months of use on my old Ipaq hx4705, it was finally getting CLOSE to needing a replacement (in other words, it was perfectly clear/usable still...)

Anyways, just my 2-cents worth.

i've used both screenguardz and boxwave...i have to say boxwave is infintely better...

screenguardz you get good feeling at the interface between screen and stylus, but they wear out FAST....you have to replace them after a few months. plus, it is a pain in the a$$ when dust gets under the protector when you are applying it

boxwave ones dont' feel as good, but they are durable, and you can use them for a long time

Do your boxwaves fit your screen snugly? On mine there is seriously a gap on the left hand side about as big as the diameter of the standard stylus. Do the screenguards fit better than boxwave?

Also anyone have opinions/experience with writeshields?

Gene, you must be tough on your screen protectors or I'm easy on mine.I have used the same Screenguardz protector for over a year and I can't find a single scratch anrwhere.I do clean the surface often and I use a ball point pen stlyus which I also keep clean. As far as the dust goes, you can get dust under any screen protector but it's harder to remove if the protector has a adhesive surface. At less than a dollar apiece I find them alot of bang for the buck.Boxwave makes a great protector but I'm just to cheap to pay that much for one little sheet of plastic or what ever they are made of.I will say if you are a heavy user in tough conditions the Boxwave is always a good choice.

Yeah, sounds like you got the x51 version. Mine fits fine. What do you mean by the thing unpeeling? Did you remove the plastic protectors from both sides?

I would definitely agree that they are not worth 30 bucks. If you are looking for a great alternative, might I suggest theinvisibleshield. They're only $13.95 with free shipping and free lifetime replacements should you ever actually need one. I've had mine for a few months now with no scratches at all. You should check em out. I'd highly recommend them. Good luck in your search.

I'll call boxwave and explain about the gaps and see if they can send me different ones. When i say about the unpeeling, the easiest way to describe it is that it looks like you have an air bubble under the protector.... but its around the sides of it. Its like the corners/edges arent sticking as well as the middle part.

Mine only had one side to unpeel with a sticker on it that said "remove me before applying". I didnt have a protective coating on both sides of it. Maybe they sent me an older version and the newer ones have protective coatings on both side?

kulnet: I will defintely check out the protectors you mentioned. It sounds like a great deal! thanks for the heads up!
