InnoPocket Case w/1800mAh battery
I'm considering purchasing an InnoPocket Case (Magnum) and also a 1800mAh battery. I know the battery is about 2.3mm thicker compared to the 1100mAh battery.

My question - with some modding, woudl I be able to fit the Axim with the 1800mAh battery in the Magnum case? Is there padding at the back that I can cut out to make this work?

Thank you.

There is padding in the back of the case that you can strip out. You can also use the axim without the battery door to reduce the thickness even more since there is no fear of the battery falling out if it's in the case. But you'll have to jam the little battery door sensor that prevents the axim from turning on if the door is off. An alternative is to cut a hole on the batter door so the battery sticks out. Don't think about trying to bend the magnesium since it's not as flexible as metal.

I have a generic aluminum case that looks like the innopocket case. I tried to fit it in but it was too tight at first, so I bent the 2 arms of the case that hold the axim out about 1/16". Then the axim slid in perfectly and no further mods were needed. So try that first.

I see what you mean BigDave. Then I believe some of the padding would definitely have to come off.

It won't turn on if you take the battery cover off and besides, it doesn't add to its thickness, it's recessed.

I just tried the mag case and my 1800mAh battery, the fit was a little tight but it went in just fine without the battery door, with it it was too tight.

That's interesting! It sure looks like the door is recessed enough that it wouldn't bind! Good to know!

So the mag case did not take the 1800mAh plus the door huh? I don't own the mag case as yet and I'm thinking of getting one. Is there any "mods" that you see possible on the mag case that would enable the battery door with the 1800mAh to fit? I was hoping it had some padding that I can cut out but it doesn't seem like it does...
