X51v AC Adapter - Where Can I buy Them?
I have ordered my Axim X51v, and am now looking to get my key accessories.
One part I am having trouble getting is a couple of spare ac adapters.

I want one for my office so I can charge in a cradle there and at home.

But more importantly I want one for when I travel between home here in the UK and Switzerland. Often I try not to take my laptop if I can avoid it so a sync-n-charge cable is not ideal for me, I like to travel as light as possible.

The Dell website rather bizarelly in my opinion does not show ac adapters as available accessories!!

Any help on where to get them would be very much appreciated.

You can get one like that for about $15 on ebay.

I bought one on ebay use 6 wks ago and still haven't gotten it. But if you look for a charger for a psp that should work as well. There was a thread here recently where we discussed the same thing. The psp seems to have very similar charging requirements and there are so many out there that you'll have no prob finding used ones cheap on ebay. Do a search on this site for more info.

Dell does have them, you have to do a search. If I find it, I'll post tomorrow, it seemed like a fair price.

Did you try www.boxwave.com?

http://www.boxwave.com/products/dire...m-x51v_747.htm

Peek-a-boo 'round, might just find an AC adaptor.

You should have no trouble finding one anywhere.
It is a standard 5v (5-5.4v) ac adapter with an almost universal 4.0/1.7 DC plug.
Many many PDA and other electronic devices (such as PSP) use it so you can get one designed for any of these devices, or just plain genereic one.

PDAs use such include Acer, Asus, Fujitsu, Ipaq, Toshiba, etc etc.

It's 5.4V instead of 5V for a reason. In most cases, 5V is good enough, but when my device was very low on power, a 5V adapter would not get the charging light to come on. Only when I used the 5.4V adapter did it start charging. Food for thought.

As i read somewhere, the USB voltage can range from 4.5 to 5.5V.

I can see the items on Dell in the US but, not in the UK! I guess I'll have to make a call and see if I can get them from Dell here in the UK.

The Boxwave items are interesting from a travel perspective, but are not going to be suitable for use with a cradle.

I will also look at PSP chargers and stuff.
Someone mentioned chargers used with other PDA's, I have power supplies left over from my HP iPaq, does anyone know if these would be suitable? When I find one I'll check the voltage and ratings.

Ok, that just leaves the adapter bit, does anyone else but Dell supply these to fit on ac adapters?
